I believe Ernest Shelton has signed with powerhouse Merrimack.

I believe Ernest Shelton has signed with powerhouse Merrimack.

He might be a steal for them- 6-5 shooting guard for a very good DII team, 27-7 overall and 17-3 in conference.
17.4ppg, 4.5 rpg, hit 41% overall, 35% from 3-pt, 86% on FT's
Maybe he just wanted to stay out east? If we're gonna knock or question kids when they aim way too high, maybe this guy knows what he wants.
From what they have returning, looks like he will have every opportunity to step right in and play 35 mpg for a team that finished a game out of 1st place
and was a missed shot at the buzzer from a chance to go to the NCAA.

agree with your post.

It seems a lot of the transfers we have listed that Bradley has contacted are from eastern schools. But, I think it is common for them to want to stay in the east. A.J. Smith was at James Madison, but he was open to looking at Bradley because he is from Illinois.

Amar'e Marshall - 6-4 NJ kid at UAlbany who averaged 17 & 14 ppg the last two years and averaged 22 ppg in their post-season tourney as well as averaging 56% from the 3-pt arc,
and has a career 3-pt shooting pct of 37%, & FT's 78% - also known as a good defenxder who averages 1.7 steals per game (would have been Top-3 in the MVC)

Troy Glover, 6'10" center, is off the board ... Bowling Green.

There is no report that Bradley ever offered. But Glover seemed like a kid who might be interested in Bradley. He is from Wheaton, Ilklinois.

A few more of the portal names linked to Bradley....
D2 portal- Troy Glover II- 6'10" junior at University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is originally from Wheaton, Illinois. He spent his freshman season at NAIA Trinity Christian College, and the last 2 seasons at UMSL. In 2024-25 he started and averaged 10.7 ppg and 8.6 rpg. Last year as a sophomore, he averaged 10.1 ppg and 8.1 rpg. He was also the conference Defensive Player of the Year. He would have 2 seasons of eligibility due to his year at a non-NCAA school.

I probably have missed it but I don't remember any public offers made by Bradley, excluding Smith, to anyone in the portal. I looked and there have been over 100 portal names mentioned as contacted by Bradley. There are probably just as many as have not been mentioned.

Some might have been offered, though with our coaches, that doesn't always get publicized. But the other factor is that Coach Wardle doesn't usually offer kids without personally seeing them. The coaches like to evaluate the players on campus and then make an offer if it is warranted.

Bradley now has 10 scholarship players committed for the 2025-26 season-
Scholarship grid - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sports-forums/basketball-fan-talk/494018-bradley-scholarship-grid
4 years of eligibility left - Matthew Zobrist, Dietrich Richardson, Montana Wheeler
3 years of eligibility left - Jaquan Johnson, Timoty van der Knaap
2 years of eligibility left - Corey Thomas, Demarion Burch
Final year of eligibility - Ahmet Jonovic, A.J. Smith, Alex Huibregtse

In 2025, the NCAA has expanded the scholarship limit to 15 scholarships for schools that opt to join in on the NCAA $2.8 billion dollar legal settlement. So, Coach Wardle could offer 3, 4 or as many as 5 more scholarships.
In addition to expanding the total number, scholarships in men's basketball can now be split and players can get partial scholarships.
The new rules also limit the total number of roster spots to 15 players, which means we probably won't see too many partial scholarships, and there will probably be fewer non-scholarship players on rosters.

That is a good roster and would like the next 2 scholarships to go to another center and a wing that can play the 3 and is a good shooter. We might also need an experienced point guard to go with Johnson and Wheeler. This is definitely a great start to the spring recruiting season. Just need to finish it strong.

The guarantee of the extra juco year might be available for Corey Thomas in 2026, but as of right now NCAA has extended it only to players whose eligibility would have been exhausted in 2025. Of course, things could change but here’s the ruling.

This surprises me, I would think we are set in the back court.
