Has the Valley Tournament ever been this wide open

I've been thinking about the Tournament and I see 8 teams and, possibly, two wild card teams that could win the tournament this year.
This could be the best tournament in some time, I didn't say that the teams were as good as in the past but I really can't say there is a true favorite this year.
There are 6 teams that could finish in the top 4 and get the bye but after this weekend and seeing ISU red beating Southern and how much better they are playing and seeing UIC take several teams down to the wire I am wondering if this isn't the most wide open tournament in the country.
It should be a lot of fun.
Just wondering others thought?

100% agree. There are 8 games left for every team in the regular season. Maybe by the time that gets down to 4 or 3 games left, we'll start to get a better idea who the 4 teams are that will get the first round bye in St. Louis. But I actually believe that might not be determined until the final game or two.

Concur. Also with a lot of the top teams playing each other down the stretch, it is going to get really interesting to see who can put together the most wins. Or maybe all the top teams trend towards .500 down the stretch and it is just a cluster of teams from 1st-7th or something
