5 MVC games Monday, Nov. 20

Some good matchups for the MVC today in the 5 games, and a couple opportunities for quality wins -
Reported with TV and streaming information-
Murray State (2-1) plays UNC Wilmington at 12:30pm CT in the Fort Myers Tipoff, which Bradley played in 4 years ago. This game will be streamed on https://www.fswbucs.com/fswbucslive, and it is free!
UNCW is 3-0 and is a 5.5 point favorite over Murray State.
Drake (3-0) plays Stephen F. Austin at 12:30pm CT in the first round of the Cayman Islands Classic. It is streamed on the subscription www.FloHoops.com. Drake is only a 3.5 point favorite. SFA is 3-1.
Illinois State (2-1) plays Long Beach State at 12:30pm CT in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase. It is streamed on the subscription www.FloHoops.com. Long Beach State is 2-2, but they have road wins over DePaul and Michigan, and are 6.5 point favorites.
Missouri State (3-1) plays Abilene Christian at 7:00pm CT tonight in the championship game of the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, USVI. It is on ESPN+ - https://www.espn.com/watch/player/_/id/a7c59dfc-00cf-43d7-a971-c3e17b32f300
Abilene Christian is 3-2 with a road win over Oklahoma State of the Big 12. Missouri State is a 2.5 point favorite
And Bradley (4-0) plays Tulane at 9:30pm CT on the CBSSports Network in the first round of the SoCal Challenge. Bradley is a 1.5 point favorite. Tulane is 3-0, though their opponents have not been very challenging.

Anyone who is a college hoops junkie should follow this Twitter account. They post a grid each day showing many of the college games being broadcast, and where to watch them- https://twitter.com/ProjSports
It does not appear he includes all the games that are on ESPN+

Drake got killed by 24. 92-68. Surprised at that start. SFA may be pretty good, but not sure what kind of defense Drake is playing. SFA shot 63 pct from field and 61pct from 3 and outrebounded Drake 26-21. Wow

Murray State had the game won with a tip-in of a missed shot with 1.7 seconds left to appear to beat UNC Wilmington 72-70. But a terrible foul by Murray State's Rob Perry on the inbounds play allowed UNCW 2 free throws, and they tied the game 72-72 to send it to overtime- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401594431

Drake defense takes a vacation and they get embarrassed by Stephen F. Austin 92-68- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401581537

Both teams shoot poorly and turned the ball over a bunch, but Illinois State managed to beat Long Beach State 61-52- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore/_/gameId/401580107

Drake with their first loss, Brodie and DeVries combine for 19 points. Drake won't be winning many games if those two combine for those stat lines much.

Big question is what happened to Drake's defense? Last season, they were near the top of the MVC defensive stats yielding just 63.9 points per game. And they held opponents to an MVC lowest 40.5% field goal percentage and an MVC lowest 30.7% three point percentage.
Yesterday, they gave up 77 points to a mediocre Oakland team, and allowed them to shoot 52%, and were outrebounded 38-29 in a win that was a lot closer than it should have been.
Today in the 92-68 blowout loss to Stephen F. Austin, they gave up 92 points, and allowed them to shoot 63% overall and 60.9% from three.
I hope our coaches can acquire and save the video from these last 2 games. Maybe it can help Bradley against the Bulldogs. Bradley plays them twice in the last 3 weeks of the season (Feb. 10 & March 3)

They lost more good players then they retained.

Billy Gillispie is not coaching his Tarleton State team in the SoCal Challenge. He remained back home because of "medical circumstances".
I hope he's ok, and also hope Bradley didn't contribute to this.
Assistant coach Joseph Jones is filling in for Billy- https://twitter.com/RoccoMiller8/status/1726737428118143338
