Red Sea

I've been reading this forum for a while now and figured this is good time to make my first post.

I've received information from a reliable source inside the Bradley Athletic Department that the student section at Carver Arena is going to be called "Red Sea". The Athletic Department is going to hold a logo design contest for Red Sea. If any creative fans out there want to participate this is a good time to get a jump start on the competition.

There was a thread about this maybe 3 months ago.... just about coming up with a new name and posters threw their ideas in. I seem to remember Red Sea was suggested and was well received. Even recall Braveman created a logo and made it his avatar... a pic of some big surfing wave and the word Red Sea next to it (I think).

Anyway - I think it sounds great. However, I will spare everyone any of my artistic attempts... people won't even play Hang Man with me.

I can confirm what longname20 says is true, and he obviously has some line to the Athletic Dept. because the promos and ads for the upcoming season are not out yet.
There will be a bigger than usual effort to get more students involved and to get them to the game with promotions and rally's.

I would love to see 1000-1200 students at every game!!

And I will buy several of those T-shirts if they go on sale for other fans to buy!

So will there be a plague of locusts in the visitor's locker rooms prior to the Red Sea parting?

PJ Star columnist Kirk Wessler's column today has a mention (near the bottom) about the renaming of the student section the Red Sea.
He points out that "Pregame intros now can take on an epic, miraculous, Biblical quality, as the Bradley players part the Red Sea on their way to the court."--

I like KW's thought of doing a vertical wave to simulate the water crashing on the shore. I have never seen or heard of that idea - did he come up with the idea?

Or maybe, after player introductions, the crowd could do simultaneous vertical waves from each side (length side) to simulate the closing of the Red Sea on the pursuers - in this case the opposing team.

Besides going from side to side, I would love to see the entire arena doing a vertical wave with all sides going at the same time from the court to the rafters!

Hey--- any of you guys in the student section.......I was "there once", although for me when I was in college (at BU over 30 years ago) sitting in the student section, it meant in the nosebleed seats of the Fieldhouse, way up where if you stood up, your head would hit one of the struts in the ceiling of the old airplane hangar!

Hey, if any of you want to come down to half court and say hi....PM me and I will give you my location, seat #'s, etc....it is right near the floor and only a few steps from you guys, but I'd love to meet and say hi to some of the fine BU student/fans!!!
