2025 BU commit- Dietrich Richardson

Would a fan out of the area be able to watch a game?
Yes- all the games are streamed but there is a fee - here's the link - https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/associations/ihsa?drilldown=upcoming&gender=boys

Plus most Illinois cities that are big enough to have a couple TV stations will have coverage of the games.

Peoria Manual (23-12) ...play Thurs 3:45pm in Champaign vs Chicago Dyett...

TRIVIA- what Bradley basketball player was for a short time, the head coach of Chicago Dyett High School???

Can D.Richardson become an All American player?

No, that won't happen. he plays for a small high school and is committed to a mid-major school. There are a few publications that pick high school all-American teams, but those would be only the top prospects who have committed to a school like Duke or other ACC, Big Ten, or other major college programs.
I expect he will be named All-State in Illinois.

And I posted this earlier, he is rated the #1 prospect in the Class of 2025 by the Chicago SunTimes. - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/s...ommit-dietrich-richardson?p=522218#post522218

Thanks Yoda! You rock! Gonna try to stream the Manual game this afternoon for a bit. Never seen DR play - only highlights

Btw
the first 1A game is about to start- Chicago Hope Academy vs Effingham St. Anthony

Hope Academy has a 5-7 kid (who looks considerably shorter than that!), Tyjuan Hunter, who is a prolific scorer - averaging 24ppg

Hope’s coach is Ronnie Fields, one of the best high school players in history.
For those who are young, Fields was the best player on Chicago Farragut. For perspective -the 2nd best player was a FUTURE NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett.
Sadly, a near fatal injury ended Fields’ career.

there’s a Peoria team, Peoria Christian, playing in the 2nd semi at 11:15am
PCS does have a remote Bradley basketball connection.
Their team trainer, Dr. Steve Below, is a former Bradley cheerleader and his medical group is a long time BU basketball sponsor.

Ok
if you’re not watching the Class 1A State Tourney, you’re missing something…
The kid I mentioned above, Tyjuan Hunter, just nailed a halftime buzzer beaters from below the FT line on the opposite end of the- 80 feet away

Peoria Christian was eliminated by Lanark Eastman HS 55-35.
Lanark Eastman will play Chicago Hope Academy for the state Championship in Class 1A at 1:00 pm on Saturday

In the State 2A Third Place game, Manual again plays poorly and they lose to Chicago Christ The King HS, 55-44
Manual did get called for a lot of fouls, with two players, including Dietrich Richardson fouling out.
Manual was only 3-20 from 3-pt, Richardson had 12 pts, 8 reb.

Manual was never really out of the game - and after 3 quarters the game was tied 40-40, but Manual
was only 1-13 shooting in the 4th quarter, they just couldn't cut into the lead.
