The MVC Player of the Week was Eric Coleman of Northern Iowa. He averaged 15.7 ppg and 9.7 rpg in 3 games.

Newcomer of the Week was P'Allen Stinnett of Creighton who scored 23 points in Creighton's win over DePaul.

Sorry in advance for being critical of a BU player, but if Matt S. would play with the energy that Coleman does he would be a great impact player this year. Matt looks like he is in slow motion compared to Coleman and Coleman is MUCH bigger. Here is hoping Matt can get that fire going. The speed at which Matt plays reminds me a lot of another player from N. Carolina. The difference is the player I am referring to was taller, had a wingspan like POB, and could shoot from anywhere. He made up for his lack of "high energy" play with amazing skills and size. Go Matt Go!
