For all you young 'uns that never got to see Hersey Hawkins play pay attention to Curry. He reminds me alot of Hawkins the way he moves off screens and can release his shot immediately upon receiving the pass. He has tremendous footwork in his ability to catch the pass off the screen and quickly square for the shot. Also, the way he handles the ball and drives to the hoop is eerily similar to Hawk (and Curry's old man).
Too bad Curry doesn't have a guard the caliber of Les to get him the ball. There's no telling how good he (or Davidson) would be.
Curry was a 2-3-Star rated player out of a relatively small scholl in Charlotte.
He was NEVER considered a top recruit and right from the begnining was labelled a "Mid-major" recruit.
He wanted to go to Virginia Tech, his dad's school, and he held out hoping for an offer, BUT...they never offered and seemed not to want Curry, and in the end he chose from the few mid-major offers he did have.
