Players leaving Evansville

Da Coach

This happens a lot the year after a coaching change. Some players who thought they would stick it out with the new coach (Marty Simmons), now realize they don't fit his plans. Leaving are Jonathan Van Hoose (redshirted this year as a freshman), and Jay Couisnard.
It is also being reported by Evansville fans on ValleyTalk.net that Tyler Morrow may be leaving, or he may be losing his scholarship and remain as a walkon.

Great. Look for another rough year or two for Evansville while they drag down the Valley RPI again!

Let"s not forget that the coaches are under a lot of pressure to win and when a player does not live up to expectations; or does not work hard enough to improve the coaching staff has to make hard decisions on not renewing players scholarships to try and get better as their jobs are on the line, I am sure that M.Simmons would rather not have to make the decision to let these players go but sometimes you need to do unpopular things if you are trying to re-build a program with your own type of players. ( I am also sure that Jim Les would have liked to see things workout for Cole-Scott, Joey Paul and M.Rembert plus all of the other players that have left Bu"s program since he has been coach, but it is hard to make everbody happy and it is his job to do what he thinks is best for Bradley"s basketball program to be successful.
