BU recruit- 2014 Raymond Doby

Raymond Doby, along with his former teammate at Christian Brothers HS in St. Louis Patrick McCaw, will be attending Montrose Christian School in Rockville, Maryland for their senior seasons.

Raymond Doby has verballed to DePaul - wonder why he waited 'til after the LOI signing period is ended?

Pretty good player, but he is an undersized power forward compared to what the Big East teams are usually getting. He is listed as only 6'6", and 180 pounds. DePaul keeps landing mostly kids that had only midmajor offers.

Raymond Doby reopens recruiting

Here is another player that might be of interest to Bradley Coach Brian Wardle.
Raymond Doby had a great high school career in St. Louis, and was recruited for a while by Geno Ford. He moved to Montrose Christian in Rockville, Maryland for his senior year to get more exposure. Then he verballed to DePaul, but did not qualify grade-wise. So he enrolled at St. John's Northwest Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin (near Milwaukee) for the 2014-15 season.
He renewed his commitment to DePaul last fall, but with the coaching change at DePaul, he has now decided to re-open his recruitment.
I am sure Brian Wardle knows about him, and he is now at 6'7", 220 pounds, and seems like just the kind of player Bradley could use.

Raymond Doby, who decommitted from DePaul, and had some recruiting contact with new coach Brian Wardle, has committed to South Carolina while on a recruiting trip there this weekend.

One-time Bradley/Geno Ford recruit Raymond Doby originally attended St. Louis Christian brothers High School. He then went to Montrose Christian HS in Maryland for his senior year to get more exposure, and initially committed to DePaul back in 2013. But he did not qualify academically, so he ended up at St. John's Northwest Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin, a prep school, to get his grades in order to be D1 eligible. Then while at the prep school in 2014, he committed again to DePaul. But with the coaching change at DePaul last year, he then decommitted and reopened his recruitment again. He even received recruiting interest again from Bradley (this time from Coach Wardle), then finally settled on South Carolina a year ago.
After only playing in 16 games his freshman season, and scoring only a total of 29 points (average of 1.8 ppg), he has decided to leave South Carolina and enroll at John A. Logan College in Southern Illinois.
