If you are listening PLEASE for the sake of our ears, pride and pre-game emotional status change that god awful "song"..uh er NOSIE that blasts through the speakers during the games intro. PJ star if you haven't written an article on that disgrace its not to late to do so.The entire crowd looks like they arer watching and listening to a train wreck. Its simply pitiful. (SO dru you're saying you DON'T like the intro):)

Its an embarassment to all things BU.

I agree with you dogs...but BU is undefeated since the new 'montage' and song debuted against Evansville on Alumni Weekend. I think they both stink, but we're winning, and I always an advocate of 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. If we lose tonight, scrap it and go back to what we all know and love.
 
Intro is terrible and I think it has kept a lot of fans from cheering more at the start of the game; still cannot figure out why we do not go back to last seasons intro as it really got the crowd into it.
 
The current intro is hideous...

There is absolutely no hook in that "song" that anyone could connect with. A melody of some sort, some consistent rhythmic element, something...anything would be nice.

A thuggish rambling with no melody, no consistent beat...that's not going to be something that a crowd can ever connect with.

This current intro song is something that the crowd will continue to be unfamiliar with no matter how many times it gets forced upon us.
 
Last year, you'd get the entire student section singing along ... which was pretty darn good considering the song had few, if any, words. In fact, that song still gets started randomly during games.

Bring back the Zombie Nation!
 
I'm an old R&B kind of guy and even though I'm a geezer I do like some hip hop. I liked our Fiddy Cent intro, but this:

The new intro is a disaster but we're undefeated with it, so I don't think it should be changed quite yet. With that said, as soon as we lose at home (hopefully it's not for a while), that song/intro has got to go, it's terrible and doesn't get the crowd into the game at all. The setiment that this song/intro is terrible is prevelent among the students as well.
 
I have to agree that the intro is terrible, but from what I have gathered, it was chosen by the players...

Obviously rap music is pop-u-lar...

Anyways, I personally enjoyed the 50 Cent "In Da Club" intro as well as the recent going back to the Zombie Nation intro....

Along w/ that, my favorite was the intro w/ the visual of going through downtown and into the arena on the video board...if you could couple that w/ the past present future video it would be perfect, no matter what song they decide to play...

I guess if it were up to me, I would go for "We Will Rock You" by Queen...but then again, I'm from that generation
 
I haven't been able to make it back to Ptown for a game this year. Does anyone actually know the name of the song that no one likes?

you are right on the money. My vote is for a return to Zombie Nation as soon as we lose a game at carver... that brings the time to change to about... early January of next year? ;)

I like it DB. I absolutly hate that S H I T that there playing now. Just my opinion but cant you pick something a little better than that. It's not hard, how bout some 80's music. Or use that Kiss song that was in the Bu radio commercial last year. That song just doesn't appeal to the majority of BU fans. Just my thoughts. Missouri State better bring some game tonight, that all I have to say.

Pleeeeze, enough of these silly superstitions. Change the dang song. If that makes us lose I'll save my tix money in the future and stay home.
 
I agree...get rid of this embarrassing thug anthem.
I just looked up the lyrics to the "song" and I realize it's even dumber and more embarrassing now that I know what the words are.
Glorifying the thug lifestyle is such a tired endeavor...but it's good to know that our basketball program is all for it.
 
I certainly don't like the new "jam" either, but we have to remember that it has to be something the players like, too. In reality, they need to get pumped up even more than fans.

I'd like to remind people that public outcry will command change in this situation. A couple years back BU had the idea to make the song "Let's Get it Started" by the Black Eyed Peas. But, everyone hated it (so much it even got booed by some) ... and it was changed back to Zombie Nation a couple games later.

Instead of all of us complaining, let's present some new ideas! Though I really enjoy Zombie Nation, so do many other teams. We should try to have something original to us!

Edit: Here's a few from me...

2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone
Black Eyed Peas - Pump It (Direct riffs from Dick Dale's surf classic - Miserlou, but this could appease the rap end with still a good beat)
Nelly - Heart of a Champion (Not as good for clapping but it's a perfect bball-type song)
