Bob Knight resigns

I guess I understand why you call Bobby Knight that but what I don't get is why should he have been fired. He ran a clean program and graduated his players two admirerable characteristics that I wish every coach had. I know there's all the extra-carricular stuff but beyond that, he ran his program the right way and won, a combo that isn't as prevelant as it used to be in today's college basketball.

Completely agree. And I guess that means we should fire everyone who throws things on the field.

The last time I checked, we have a fiery manager on the north side of Chicago who's been known to throw things onto the field. His name is Lou Pinella. I guess that means we need to fire him right away too!

Come to think of it, Ozzie Guillen should go too considering some of the stuff he has said in the past.

Well we will have to agree to disagree on RMK... I actually used to like Knight early in his career. But his act got really old really fast with me. If we were only talking about a chair throwing incident or the fist slamming on the scorers table in the NCAA tournament, then I would be fine with everything. As an x's and o's coach, he is one of the best and yes he did run a clean program.imo But I believe that coaches are an extension of the University and in some ways represent the community. Knight's numerous antics and absolute power at IU through intimidation is the main point of my opinion on him as a coach and to this day, I believe that Myles Brand handled the situation very well.

You're right about the disagree part. One of the most unfair developments I have ever witnessed was the way Miles Brand went about getting rid of Knight. Do you know the details of the feeble excuse Brand used within his "zero tolerence" edict. Once that thing went into effect, Knight didn't stand a chance.
Now that he runs the NCAA let's see how he comes down on the present Hoosier coach. Sampson has broken more rules in two years at Indiana than Bob Knight did in 29 years. If Brand doesn't come down hard on KS, it will be just an extension of his hypocritical history.

Well we certainly disagree, I think that it was about time that a University President stood up to Bobby to use a zero tolerence edict on RMK. Knights actions had gone unchallanged for far too long.imo As for Sampson, I agree that the NCAA should punish IU for the actions of their current coach.

Bob Knight's successor, Patrick Knight goes to 0-2 with a loss last night to Nebraska.
Only 903 more wins and he will pass his daddy.
