UIUC vs IU Rd 2

WOW. Pruitt goes 0-2 from the line with 1 second left in OT. Then gets away with a definite foul after IU gets the rebound and tries a 3/4 court shot. U of I got lucky. Let's see who comes thru in 2OT.
 
Unfortunate that the Illinois fans are now showing a lack of class in their treatment of the Indiana Fans.

The unnecessary thuggish behavior by Frazier in the player intros, the lack of heart displayed by the team, and now this crowd behavior is embarrassing for the Illini, IMO.
 
Seeing the Illini missing all those free throws makes me glad that the Braves have been pretty clutch from the stripe this year. The WMBD boys even said last night this could be one of the best FT shooting teams BU has had.
 
I need a drink. God I hate Indiana. Hate them more than any other team in basketball. I think I'd hate them more even if Iraq assembled a team. I hope we see them in Indy because I want to beat them so badly.

well I don't think it was thuggery coach....it wasn't that big of a deal

crowd behavior throwing things?....now that is bad..no need for it
 
What a game, Eric Gordon steps up big in the second half, what a player! Real lack of class by the fans and Chester Frasier ... and another loss for the Illini!
 
I missed the game but did they throw stuff on the court or at IU fans in the stands? It's my understanding that throwing stuff on the court is an automatic T?

True, but still. There's so much hatred, they're lucky it wasn't a drink or something. I don't think there's a team Illini nation hates more than Indiana.
 
IU should give the game ball to Shaun Pruitt. What a joke. How anybody can play D-I ball and miss that many FTs is beyond me. Not that Randle fouling out yet again helped. That was completely on him. He had 2 chances (3 if you count the missed layup in the first OT) that should have won the game. I like SP, but I think he's gotten worse at the line, and a kid like that as a senior needs to step up and show some heart once in awhile, especially with a game like that on the line.

lefty, I am sure most Illini fans will say they see it that way.
But I have watched thousands of basketball games, as I am sure you have, and I have never seen a player pretend to extend his had then lower his shoulder and deliver a body shot like Frazier did to Gordon. It would be naive to think that it wasn't planned, and that Frazier wasn't "assigned" to do that to send a message. It was cheap, uncalled for, and an embarrassing display of thug mentality. Just like the fans' actions at the end. For that to be shown nationwide, gives Illinois a black eye.

I am an Illini fan, I have a degree from the University of Illinois, and I am proud of them when they play well and win. But this Illinois team can't shoot, can't make free throws, and makes way too many senseless mistakes. I am embarrassed for them tonight.
