I guess it depends on what you define as profane...
Things like "Buck FRADL*EY" (several hundred people had signs or t-shirts saying this), "F-you BU", "You SUCK", and (how could he possibly miss this one?) the organized "BULL-SH*T" chant that followed most of the bad or borderline referee calls, and a few other chants certainly don't leave much to the imagination, and probably wouldn't be allowed in the Wessler household.
Yesterday, ISU had the 2nd 10,000+ crowd that they've had in the past 10 years (both were BU games)
BU has already had 5 10,000+ games this season alone, and will almost certainly have 3 more (BracketBuster, Creighton, and SIU) to make EIGHT this season, and we had eight last season as well.
If they think encouraging such behavior will help their attendance, then they are shooting themselves in the feet, it won't.
When I read the article on the good sportsmanship, it made me wonder if we were at the same game. I think the ISU fans showed a definite lack of class. I think Wessler must need his ears cleaned out.
Interesting. I didn't think KW's article was too bad. There have certainly been far worse.
And, of course, the most hilarious responses were from the ISU fans. The one who posted the usual in-depth, thoughtful analysis that is typical of ISU fans was "Bradley s**ks". I am shocked someone didn't post the tired-out old "Buck F.radley". Considering Bradley had won 6 games in a row and has a huge winning advantage since Jim Les has been Bradley's coach, I wonder why we never seem to see the same sentiment expressed by the Bradley fans toward ISU? Maybe because we don't seem to have as many fans with 5th grade mentality?
