Bulls Trade Ben Wallace

wow for the bulls to get anything at all for Wallace is amazing. Shannon Brown could if he ever develops could be the steal of that trade. I wonder if the Bulls have to pick up any of that contract Wallace has?

They do not. I don't think the NBA allows those types of trades to happen. When a trade is made in the NBA, the amounts of the contracts have to be within a % of each other in order for the trade to go through. The thinking behind that it to eliminate teams from having a 'firesale' to pawn off all of their good players to other teams in hopes of winning the NBA Lottery. That's all the more reason it's amazing that the Bulls were able to move that albatross of a contract.

Everyone I read, and know thought it was a good signing, but he has been a shadow of his previous self. I agree, even though the players the Bulls get are not likely to change their season, good riddance to Ben Wallace.

It was too bad that Ben Wallace never worked out for the Bulls. I like Larry Hughes as a player, but I can't quite figure out how he'll work into their rotation... I do like Shannon Brown also.

This looks like a really good trade for the Bulls. Getting rid of Wallace was the main thing, and to get Hughes and Gooden in return is great.

I just do not think Wallace was the right type of guy for the Bulls. He'll be able to play his role easier in Cleveland. Hughs is too streaky, get's injured too much and needs the ball way to much! He can shoot a team right out of a game.

i know this may be unpopular

i know this may be unpopular

But the reason I love this trade. More p/t for Noah. Say what you will about his mouth, I love his motor and you know the guy loves to win.

I havent followed the Bulls much, dont care much for the NBA, but was this the player I read about that was stirring/dividing things up on the team?

I think that would be the prima donna Noah

No. That is completely incorrect. As an avid follower of the Bulls, I can assure you that Ben Wallace was the driving force behind the Skiles firing, the Noah 'player voted' suspension, and a big reason that this team has basically quit this season. I'm ecstatic that the Bulls got actual NBA players for his ridiculous contract. The Bulls are better now and for the long term with coach-killing Ben Wallace gone.

Good points, the Bulls get better due to the simple fact that Wallace is gone. Noah had some trouble adjusting to the NBA but Wallace was a locker room cancer. He really wasn't the leader they expected him to be and he wasn't exactly the most outgoing guy among his teammates. The Bulls are much better off, especially since they dumped his contract and got two established players in return.

So, I had planned on watching the Bulls tonight to see how the new guys fit in, and was shocked to find it wasn't actually televised (HS basketball being on the normal ch 56), so I settled in to watch the Cavs (watching LeBron's always fun anyway). Anyway, what's weird is the trade players haven't "arrived" yet, so the Cavs are playing really short... But all the guys from the trade are watching from the owner's luxury box. Seems like they've, uh, arrived and stuff. Can't figure out if they aren't suiting up because of some rule, or if there's some more practical reason... I mean, on my xbox trades are instantaneous! :D

That is odd. I remember that it took a while for Shaq to suit up for the Suns, too. They need to learn how to trade from the MLB.
