Every year something ridiculous happenes to this team.

2007-08- Ruffin hurt, warren hurt, ruffin arrested
2006-07- Ruffin hurt
2005-06- POB and Franklin suspended

Gilbert was also hurt his senior year for quite sometime and I believe Crouch was injured for a few games in one of those seasons as well.

Can we get a break????

Injuries happen to all teams and you just need to get through them. Suspensions are totally under the control of the players to prevent. JL will catch some heat on this but DR is an adult and should never have put himself thus the team and Unversity in this position.

Don't forget Jeremy Crouch's knee injury and shoulder surgery.
Sam Singh's knee and shoulder surgeries.
Phil Gilbert's foot injury.

And if we are goig back 10+ years, Aaron Zobrist's severe ankle sprain.

so far basketball is just like real life....having to overcome the unseen obsticles around every turn......how good you are depends on how good you handle the adversity! To be successful in life you must overcome and Braves basketball will overcome! My hopes of postseason play just changed to fear over winning tonights game let alone getting into a post season tourney! Let's fill the house tonight and give the players the support they need to overcome another roadblock set up in the road to success!

Didnt Jabbar Battle have a similar situtaion.

Also Suggs left the team under bad circumstances and lets not forget losing Granger mid season.

If you think about it almost every season the last 12 years has had a big injury, suspension or player leaving the team.

Injuries, well every team has them.......

But behavior issues??
Bradley holds its athletes to a considerably higher standard than what we have seen elsewhere.
If what we are hearing is confirmed, then I anticipate proper suspension.
However, in all the he said/she said cases we have seen in the press lately, when facts come out, the truth sometimes may be quite different that what is initially reported.
Remember, the Duke Lacrosse case is just one example of where the law gets involved because of a complaint that in the end had no merit.
We should wait and see on this one.

Well stated....

Just to clarify, since posting about other situations might imply there are similarities--

Battle's situation did not have any effect on the team, as he never played anyway. And I believe the charges against him were all dropped.

Mike Suggs situation was not similar to today's, as he never had any legal charges against him, and his situation was over the summer, so it didn't affect the team like something in mid-season would.

I think Battle was arrested for hitting his girlfried. My point on those expamples was not that they had nearly the same effect that this might but more that they were distractions that made a season "not normal"

Battle was charged for domestic battery, so that part is similar to what is being reported today. But is my recollection correct? I seem to recall that the complaint was withdrawn and all charges were dropped.

I think that is right. Did the team punish Battle after that or did he just leave?

Is anyone else ready for some good news from the hilltop? Seems like forever since we've gotten something to get excited about.....maybe we can close in on one of the recruits or something!

Softball team beat Wisconsin? Bradley soccer signed some great recruits?

Injuries are part of the deal. Bradley is no different than most teams wioth regard to injuries. The off the b-ball court is starting to be an epidemic around the country. Recruit great kids of character and those problems ar diminished greatly. Don't go jump on me now....there are no guarantees so I understand that too.
We make so much of these athletes starting in jr high anymore that that they start to think they can do no wrong. If they happen to get away with some small thing then they think they can do anything and probably get away with it.
Many times when situations like this happen it's not the first time an incident happens...only the first time reported...same with drinking, drugs, whatever.
Sorry for the long post...but there are some real problems in colege athletics across the country and it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon. I've got other thoughts on it but this post is too long already..sorry about that

Jerome Robinsons shoulder, which cost us the MVC tournament and a trip to THE DANCE. Jerome was our leading scorer. He could not lift his right, shooting arm, past shoulder level.
As a result we lost the final to the Sychs, who went to THE DANCE, and actually won a game!

Just think how close we were to missing the '06 tourney - and imagine the absolute rioting and uproar we'd have on this program right now if we did miss that.

just sayin'

Injuries are injuries. But we seem to be getting in too much trouble, police and NCAA-wise. Just in the past couple years, Franklin, POB, and Ray Brown have found trouble, and now Ruff with the police. This and the massive amounts of roster shuffling - guys coming and leaving without playing a game - and I'm worried.
