Andrew Warren update?

There was a report in the PJ Star that he was most likely out until after the MVC Tourney...so it looks like the Braves will need to make the NCAA or NIT if we want to see Warren again this year.

Coaches show mentioned that in a few days? that the stiches would be removed, and he'd be fitted with a softer cast, but no ETA on playing.

Tonight.

That outta keep SIU thinking....

and get KW all ticked off for JL not telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

;)

The man has metal and screws in his hand. Ow? I wouldnt be touching a ball for at least two months. Would be nice to hear how he's doing though.

Here is the info from the PJ Star article about Warren...
Injured Bradley guard Andrew Warren thinks speculation that he could return to action by the Missouri Valley Conference tournament may be too optimistic.

"That's a bit too soon," said Warren prior to the Braves' Saturday night win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee. "I'm not ruling it out, but that's kind of pushing it. The doctors (Peoria surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Garst) told me 4-6 weeks. And four weeks is a week after the (Valley) tournament. "You never know, I might heal in three weeks. It's a waiting game to see how the bone responds. But what I'm hoping for is to be back for any postseason tournament in the NCAA or NIT and wearing a protective glove."

Warren was there, in a suit. We win if he's available IMO.

I agree and his type of game would of exploited their D. Also Naptown was online with us in the chat room and she said they removed 3 stiches ?today? and he has another 3 to remove. So it does not look good. These injuries usually take a good 6 weeks to heal and than re-hab people. We'll be real lucky to see him this year suit up for the team.

Considering the status of our point guard, I think I want AW to start focusing on next year. He could be a 1st teamer and possible POY candidate. No reason to rush back for this cursed season.

i agree with BB. andrew will be a big-time component of our teams for years to come. Better to play it safe now and not risk the future. I hope you heal up fast, Andrew!

I reserve the right to change that statement should DR get reinstated. I would want AW to try and play in St. Louis, and maybe the postseason if we get DR back. This team could still do something special with DR and maybe AW in the fold. Again, from what I have heard that's a long shot.

I agree. Andrew is an awesome young man. I love watching him play and I love his positive attitude.
