Even more so than in years past, we're going to see bid stealers - Drake, Butler, Gonzaga/St Mary's/South Alabama/Memphis/VCU. I'd be willing to bet out of this group, 3 at-large bids will be stolen by conference tournament upsets. So shift that bubble 3 spots upwards.

My conference tournament hopes......

Drake loses in the 2nd round

Butler wins (watch for Wright St.)

Gonzaga/St. Mary's wins (one of these two should win)

South Alabama wins (watch for Western Kentucky)

Memphis wins (watch for UAB)

VCU wins (watch for George Mason)

I do not get the facination with Kentucky. They have played well within their conference but they have no marque wins non conference having lost at home to Gardner Webb, San Diego, UAB and had their chance for that marque win v UNC, Indiana and Louisville and lost all of those chances.

Why are they such a media darling. If this resume were blind and not with the name Kentucky afixed to it there would be no chance this team would receive an atlarge bid.

I think SIU will have to to win the Valley tourny to get in, their resume is very similar in blaaness to Kentucky and equally not deserving. Also, if they do not win the MVC, what will hurt them is that week wait between the end of our tourney and the end of the games that next Sunday. Out of sight out of mind.

I have Kentucky as one of the last four out, along with SIU.

Where does Palm have Maryland? And which ACC and A-10 teams does he have in? There are so many bunched up in those 2 conferences.

Some of the talking heads like Digger still had Maryland in, but with their home loss to Clemson, I don't see that happening. They have 1 more game at Virginia, and even if they win that and lose in their tournament, they will have 13 losses. Only Digger and Billy Packer would think they belong in then. Let's hope they lose at Virginia and just put them out of their misery.

True, and I personally don't think SIU is in anyway. ISU may have the easier schedule, but they finished with a solid second place finish in a strong conference, and with a quality road win to boot. SIU has the stronger schedule, but ISU has the better overall resume.

UAB blew their chance with that choke job of theirs against Memphis. I don't think they deserve to be in, though they did have a nice win at Kentucky and a nice home win against Houston. Still, their 3-3 record against the RPI top 100 (all wins are from 51 to 100) doesn't exactly scream NCAA tournament Cinderella. But who knows. C-USA is ranked tenth, and if the bubble is as weak as some say it is, it wouldn't shock me that they would be invited to the tourney considering they are second in the conference. But right now, I don't see it happening.

Not sure about Palm, but Maryland is in according to CBS, USA Today, Bracketography, FOX, and Bracketology.

I think UAB is squarely on the bubble and could still make some noise in the C-USA tournament.

A week ago I would have said the semifinals of UAB v Houston would determine who the second C-USA team would be, but Houston lost at East Carolina and they still have to go to UTEP, I think they have to win out including the tourney to get in. UAB if they can split with Tulsa and at Memphis then get to the CUSA finals they probably have enough to get an atlarge. The sceniro has them sitting at 24-10 assuming they lose at Memphis and to Memphis in the conference finals.

CUSA gets one bid if Houston or anyone else gets to the tourney finals and loses.

Sorry DC...

Maryland is currently a #12 playing #5 Mich St in JPalm's bracket today. Maryland is considered one of JPalm's last 4 in.
