Playing minutes Friday

We'll see what kind of character DC has this summer. Is he going to phone it in and transfer or resign himself to riding the pine or is he going to put in the work and foce JL to put him on the floor? We'll see.

Too many times this season we have had a team on the ropes and didn't finish them off. I attibute some of that at least to being mentally and physically spent going down the final stretch.

We have given away at least four games this year where we had the win but we didn't put the other team away and they snuck back into it and stole our W.

The three guys that will factor into us winning or loosing are RA SS TCS. Each one of these guys needs to do a gut check and dial up their "game" a little. It is so improtant for these three to have outstanding minutes so Les can keep them in longer, which will result in our "goto guys" not being totally gassed and having their legs the last 10 minutes.
TCS just needs to commit more of his energy to doing the "little things" when he gets his minutes. Be disruptive on defense, run the floor, penetrate and create opportunities for others, etc. If he spent more time on the court doing those things instead of jacking up threes and forcing himself into low percentage shots in the lane, the team would be much better off.

The last I heard Will Egolf was still having pain in his foot so I believe they have shut him down for the season; Collins will only get in if we have a huge lead and the game is just about over; It is going to be up to our starters to play a lot of minutes and rest after the games as we will probably only be playing 8 unles Andrew makes a remarkable recovery, our team is as good as any when they play defense and rebound; they just need to be willing to fight for every possession .

Did you hear what was said during the coaches show?

I missed the last 20 minutes of the show, this is good news as I believe Will could give us some good minutes if he is in shape, just don"t shoot the 3 and look to score your points inside as you have the ability and the size to be a tough matchup inside.

Maybe next year...
No offense to Will's potential down the road, but he really hasn't given us many quality minutes thus far this year, so I doubt he will be seeing meaningful minutes in the tourney.
And while he has good size, he hasn't shown much of a desire to post anyone up and play with his back to the basket this year...and it takes much more than just size to be a "tough matchup inside".
Les and Egolf need to sit down at the end of the year and figure out what they are going to try and develop him as in his BU career...right now, he is kinda stuck as a tweener as I see him. I really like his combination of size and athleticism, but it needs to be established whether he is going to be developed as a true big guy/post player or a "Euro" big guy that plays out on the perimeter.
If he is going to play out on the floor as a "Euro big", he really, really needs to spend the offseason developing some consistency with his shot and developing a little more quickness to help him defend quicker wing players and to help him beat people off the dribble.
If he is going to be developed as a post player, he needs to continue to bulk up and he really needs to develop some post skills and some additional toughness that he will need to win those battles in the post and on the boards.

(I'm going to be an optimist) Without AW in the lineup it would be great to see a big lead in the second half on Friday so we can rest our guys .... every minute helps. At least we're not playing the late game on Friday..... the winner of that one always has a very tough turnaround on Saturday.

I wonder if you don't give DC a couple of 1st half minutes to keep the fouls down on the bigs and keep them fresher for another game?

I agree as I really don't see much difference in Egolf and Collins as far as giving us "quality" minutes. I see no reason to play either of those two now.
