Update......score just posted....

Dodie Dunson's team, Vincennes, just lost their opening round game at the NJCAA D-I Finals.
They now drop to the Consolation bracket and play again Wednesday at 2PM Central time.

The score was
Salt Lake CC 65 - Vincennes University 61

TJ Marion's Southeastern IL College is playing now...vs. Paris (TX) Junior College

The second DI juco tourney game is in the books....
Southeastern Illinois College defeated Paris Junior College 63-57

For Southeastern Illinois, TJ Marion was 2-8, had 5 points, 4 rebs, 4 asst. and played 37 min.
Their leading scorer was Andree Wilson with 18.

Those are some strange stats. Seward only shot 28 times, and made just 13 baskets, to Chipola's 55 shots, and 29 baskets. With that disparity, you would think Chipola would win easily. But Seward was 40/49 on free throws, to Chipola's 14/23.

And one of Chipola's stars, Gary Flowers, a former Oklahoma State player, had just 2 free throws, but is listed with 6 fouls. Do they allow 6 fouls in juco?

Checking several other stories on this game, it is quite clear that those FT stats ARE correct....BUT...

The numbers which are labelled FG, are actually JUST the 2-point FG's.
so they were 13-28 on 2-pt attempts (26 points), 8-17 from 3-pt (24 points) and 40-49 from the FT line (40 pts) for their total of 90.

Chipola was whistled for 32 fouls, sending Seward to the line for 49 F's.

I don't think they allow six fouls in JUCO, but I would think it would be possible for a player to get six fouls if when they have four fouls they get called for a foul AND get T'd up for protesting. Not sure if that happened, but I would think it could.

Indian Hills just won their 2nd round game and now move on to the Elite Eight in the NJCAA (Division I) Junior College National Tourney.

Dwight Buycks had an awesome game, scoring 24 points, Leon Powell had 14 (with 5 rebounds), Dwight Hardy had 26.
They beat Itawamba 75-73 in OT
Indian Hills shot 26-37, for an overall 65.1% shooting pct.

Vincennes (Dodie Dunson) is presently playing vs. Paris JC in the Consolation Bracket.

Vincennes lost yesterday, and is now done, finishing in the lower half of the Consolation Bracket and is out of title contention.
Vincennes lost 74-69 to Paris JC, Dodie had 10 pts., they finish their season 28-5

Southeastern Illinois College also lost yesterday, and they now play for 4th-6th in the Championship bracket.

Indian Hills is in the quarterfinals and plays at 8:30PM today, if they win, they are in the semi's and play for a chance at the title game Friday.
