Official apology thread for those who said DC is "a bust", or "wasted scholie"

We are very forgiving here at BradleyFans.com.
We would welcome an apology from anyone who said David Collins was a wasted scholarship, or a bust, or that they would like to see him leave to free up a scholarship. Please feel free to post your regrets. :)

I thought David looked better and more aggresive tonight than he has in several months. On the post game show, Theron Wilson said he has been much better in practices lately. I am not calling him an All MVC player, yet, but he will be an important contributor next year if he can play like he did tonight.

DC outplayed the 6'11" freshman center for Cincinnati, Anthony McClain. McClain was a 4-star recruit out of high school last year. He could turn out to be a good player, but it didn't look like he had any offensive skills at all. Nice job by DC!

I didn't see the game, but it sounded like he was a lot better. Nice ovation for him too in the first half when he went to the bench.

I personally never advocated for him to leave, but I didn't think we'd get much out of DC next year. His contribution tonight was very important, and I hope he continues to improve.

I'm not ready to say he's "arrived" yet, but it is an encouraging sign.

First...I never said it was a wasted schollie..but becuase of tonite you think DC is a succes at BU?...the jury is still out

From what I saw DC played decent offensively but doesn't do much on defense and let Cincy get several offensive rebounds.

I don't understand why you think people should apologize for having an opinion

DC sure looked more confident tonight and really helped out when the other kid 6'11 was getting all the boards he helped out a lot and also had a nice hook shot over the other big......I didn't give up on Jeff Rabey his Jr. year and I won't give up on DC!

lefty, I wasn't naming names! :)

I never thought you were too hard on DC. Hey even I was having my doubts. No, I don't think he'll be a star at BU, but he can play a role next year if he can play like he did tonight. He can change the way bigger teams like Cincy play. His 6 points were crucial tonight. And I liked the way he neutralized Cincinnati's big man McClain, who was a total non-factor.

You agree that DC's worth keeping around, at least?

I am especially happy for David. He is a great kid (I know, he's not really a kid, he's 22 years old), and all the other players love him. It's just nice to see him contribute in crunch time, and not just in garbage time.

I think we should unless he wanted out. Let's see how he does over the summer

DC looked pretty good tonight.

What was that "Big Man" camp PB went to the summer before his last year? Send DC out there. Good footwork and 20 pounds on his frame will make him a totally different, and vastly improved, center in this league. GO DC!!!

I just hope DC gets on the Matt Salley weight regimen this offseason. I think he just needs to get a bit stronger and play physical consistently. He could be a real nice contributor next year.

Funny how you were the first to chime in though Lefty.......Guilty conscience? ;)

No not at all.......I've watched DC all year and sit pretty close to the bench and see his expressions and it doesn't seem like he has any fire to really be a force...maybe that will come around I hope it does....but he played 12 min and was 2-4 with1 rebound and still has some work to do defensively and rebounding IMO...this was better than some performances earlier but we will see if it's the start of something good or not

Was there anything wrong with Sam? Or were they rewarding Collins for good play in practice?

Anyway I personally didn't say wasted schollie or bust but I did say I didn't think we would get anything out of him. Tonight was more than I thought we would get all of next year. I hope he can keep improving. He showed enough tonight to warrant play, but I still saw a lot that needs improved on defense and boxing out.

I think all the Braves could really use to go on Salley's weight plan. Compared to Cinci I thought our players looked puny.

I was the president of the DC fan club during the beginning of the season when he was playing 10-12 minurtes a game and putting up some good numbers. Then in the middle of the season I was upset that he wasnt playing. Towards the end of the season I was getting upset with DC but understood why he wasnt doing well playing 2-5 minutes a game and never really getting a chance to prove himself. I am glad he got the minutes tonight that he got in the begining of the year to give him some confidence going into next season. FINISH STRONG DC!!!!

I am going to sound like Simon Cowell here... DC certainly made a decent contribution to this game and has shown some improvement, but this was against a Cincinnati team that had a 13-18 record coming into this game. Cincinnati was what it was... A flawed team. I hope DC continues to improve, but he has a lot of work to do on his defense and footwork.
