Utah State was never out of the game but every time they needed it, ISU got a big shot. USU's star player Jaycee Carroll really struggled tonight. ISU played well in the first half and were able to overcome a lot of empty trips on the offensive end in the second half.

ISU now has to play Dayton in the second round which will be a really tough matchup.
 
ISU shot poorly but played well enough to win, OE was only 1-8 from 3-pt and 4-17 overall.
Levi Dyer MADE A DIFFERENCE, as he was 3-4 from 3-pt and had 9 pts.

Osiris Eldridge's baseline drive/reverse layup was #3 in the Top 10 Countdown Plays of the Day last night on ESPN.

The funny thing is that they had Dickie Simpkins as their "color announcer", and he is, well......say unskilled as a commentator.

I have never liked Dickey Simpkins, for no reason I can explain, all the way back when he played for the Bulls. Last night my friend and I started watching the ISU game upon returning from the BU game. I commented on how I didn't like Sampay because he reminded me of Dickey Simpkins. Then after hearing the unknown announcer call Eldrige O-Hawk for about the 700th time, I said aloud "Who is this clown" right after I say that, they flash the camera to the announcers and low and behold it's Simpkins. I said "Well that Sums it Up"
