Next game- Bradley at Virginia- Wed. 3/26

Does anyone know if we get home court advantage if we happen to pull the miracle in Virginia?

I would think/hope so as long as the scheduling works out with the arena being avaliable. Neither Tulsa nor Houston are No. 1 seeds so I would think we would get first choice. Also, Houston has shown no desire to host a game at all so I would think if they somehow win in Tulsa that it would become even more likely that we would have the home court advantage.

Edit: That's just my logical reasoning though, who knows with the unique way that this tourney is setup.

They've said all along that they would "re-seed" the teams at this point. Virginia being a #1 seed with the home game leads me to believe we are the #4 seed now. Still not quite sure why something like that happens, but it is the first year of a sixteen-team tournament. It would be great to have the advantage in a best of three series and I guess they could always "re-seed" the two teams that make it to the finals to allow for whatever scenario they would like.

My prediction:

78 - Bradley

74 - Virginia

I am afraid that the CBI feels that an ACC team in the final will legitimize their tournament a little bit more. I also think they want kind of an 'east v west' final for maximum viewing potential. I also think that an MVC-CUSA final is probably the scenario they want the least. As much as I would like to spoil their plans, I just don't think that the factors mentioned above give us much of a chance.

Virginia 80
BU 69

Hope I am wrong. I would love a classic 'old MVC' matchup in the final with Tulsa.

All I ask for is a fair chance to win and hopefully we will get Tom O"Neil as the lead official again as he is one of the best referees in the game, he may miss a call but he never seems to be biased toward one team. He is a true professional and a lot of the Valley refs could learn something from watching hin do a game. (I guess that is why he has done several final fours).

I hadn't seen Tom O'Neill do a game in a LONG TIME. I was surprised to see him and didn't know he was still officiating.

Their 4 point win last night over Old Dominion gives BU decent hope, since ODU hung in there and led much of the way.
Virginia's attendance last night was 6460!!
it was probably 9500......they never get those right we seat about 6500 in our lower bowl..... and about 9000 in the upper and the lower deck was 100% full while the upper deck was about half full, maybe a little less.....it's still louder than usual b/c the dedicated fans can get lower seating instead of some rich old farts....not to mention the entire purpose of the structural design of jpj was for crowd noise

I Feel Good About This

I Feel Good About This

Friends,
I won't soon forget the V over Cincinnati and a
tough comeback against Ohio. Now an ACC school.
Just bring it on. It's our 35th game of the year and
the challenge of good mid-league BCS schools against
a good mid-league MVC school is just a bonus with
the new coaches and players.
Lastly thanks to MS and JC who have defined tough-
ness and leadership in this mini-run.

The CBI website finally has the seedings listed. It looks like BU is headed to either Tulsa or Houston Monday if they win tomorrow. I guarantee the CBI does not want a Bradley/Houston final. A near empty arena for potentially 2 games next week would not look good.

I don't particularly care for the fact that BU is not leaving until the morning.

Lee Hall's report tonight (Tuesday) included a brief mention of Bradley and their game at Virginia tomorrow. He reported that Bradley is flying out of Peoria Wednesday morning at 7 am.

Dave Reynolds reports that Bradley traveled Tuesday night by charter.
Dave's article for today (Wed 3/26) is not on the PJ Star website yet.

Note that Virginia has never beaten Bradley, they are 0-1 all-time against Bradley (the lone meeting occured in the 1946-47 season).
