Twany Beckham almost committed to Bradley

Mississippi State apparently is also in the mix with Beckham. But both Miss. State and Kentucky really want Scottie Hopson, possibly the top high school player available in the class of 2008. And if Kentucky can't get Hopson with their last scholarship, their 2nd choice is top juco recruit Roderick Flemings. I only hope Beckham realizes he is being strung along as a fall-back option for those schools.

I would love to see this guy on the hilltop. It sounds like he has really picked his game up, especially shooting. A nice big guard that would be around 4 years.. sounds good to me. Come to BU -- you'll get plenty of PT right away and be running with Eddren and AT for four years!

I don't want to lose this guy...

My fingers are crossed that the Kentucky and Mississippi State offers don't come to fruition...
He's a 4-year big, athletic guard that would be a stud in the Valley for 4 years...

Interesting to see what one of the Louisville readers says in the reader comments at the end:

"Twany should take the Bradley scholarship. He would fit in great in that
system. If you saw the Bradley - Virginia game you can see the fit. Why risk
that opportunity waiting to see if you are the fourth choice at UK?"

Twany is from Louisville Ballard HS, and I think it's interesting that surely Twany must know that the all time greatest Ballard High School baller was Jeff Lamp. Jeff Lamp was a TOP 10 high school player nationally and got all kinds of college offers.....finally settling on Virginia.
But he never really developed into a star at Virginia, as he was outshined by the likes of Ralph Sampson, etc....
Lamp ended up having a mere cup of coffee in the NBA and then playing most of his pro ball in Europe before retiring.

BU just went to Virginia and whalloped them!!....and we see guys like Stephen Curry starring at a mid-major....

SO-- Twany!!! Listen up!!!
Forget going to the big school...........you'll be a 2nd or 3rd choice!!
Come to BU and be the next Stephen Curry!!

If he already made his visit to BU can we pay for another trip back to Peoria on Wednesday? I would think not, I know he can pay his own way? Lets get this kid.

This comment shows the benefit of the CBI. Big East and ACC fans are seeing how good Bradley is ... and we had a down year! If we add Twany, we will be an NCAA team for his soph, jr, and sr years ... and I'm thinking we'll be there next year as well with the signing of Dodie Dunson and the emergence of our inside game to complement our guard play. The timing for someone like Twany to come to BU is perfect ... the other pieces are in place.

Well said Dallas... Send DC, Rashad, AT, and Will to a big mans camp, get Twanny and watch out for us in the next couple of years.:)

I hope we get him but our window may have passed when he did not commit when he was here. It would be great if we could get him up here on Wednesday night, if that happens we may just pull it off!!!! Everyone keep your eyes open for him wednesday..........

The article was written March 27 and stated he was at BU recently. I assume then he was probably here for the Ohio game on the 24th or maybe on on 19th vs Cincy.

I hope he comes to BU. I doubt he'll be sorry. Geez we offer a super fan base and lots of PT if he's as good as indicated. And if he is good enough to make it to the NBA he'll be discovered here especially with Coach Les.

Full court press on this kid, make it happen!

Would it be really bad to facebook him and friend request him...maybe to you know...help make his decision haha

"Look I've already got friends at Bradley. Maybe I should just go there because they really like me."

But in all honesty he'd be a star here..the big man on campus and in the Peoria area. That's a nice little perk.

Big fish in a little sea or a small fish in a big ocean. What is it AB?

Dude...leave him alone and let the coaching staff recruit this guy the right way.

Yeah. I know he didn't verbal while he was here, but the fact that he was quoted saying he almost committed just gives me a feeling that even after other visits he's still going to end up here, idk why, just a feeling.

knock on wood
