I think the CBI helped the coaching staff out more than it did DC. IMO, DC would have made positive contributions during the conference season. The good news is that there is a lot of positive momentum regarding DC's role on next year's team ... something that would not have been present in this off-season if the CBI hadn't been available. That's not a swipe on the coaching staff ... sometimes things don't fall into place with a player. After all, Larry Bird picked up and left IU because he didn't like Bobby Knight's approach to coaching ... and I still think Knight was a great coach. (and no, I'm not equating DC's talent to Bird's)
That said, DC still has a lot to work on in the off-season ... finishing stronger to the rim, less happy feet when playing D and just holding his ground, and, most of all in my opinion, anticipating rebounds and jumping earlier ... he still seems to be flat-footed a lot when the shot caroms off the glass.
