Currently: Illini 9-9 and Bradley 8-10.

Both have (at least) 14 games left (both could get more in Conference Tourneys by advancing).

Road games left: Illini 7, Bradley 6

Illini face Mich St twice and host Indiana and Wisconsin.

Bradley faces ISU twice, Creighton twice, SIU twice, and a road game at Drake.

Illini only play NW'rn 1 time.

Bradley gets Evansville twice.

A Ruffin Return could occur.

Just want to add a comment... kinda like Snell's keys to the game and Magic Number... the Magic Number IMO is 12.

;)

Just diggin up a dandy!

I actually got 3 Illini s-uckers to take a bet with me when I posted this poll (Jan 18th).

2 paid right away (after UIUC lost in the B10 Tourney and were not postseason bound) and were good sports.

1 has yet to pay.

And we are talking about only a $1 bet! The guy works within 100 feet of me! I didn't see him since just before the MVC Tourney... but he showed face yesterday and today... was very friendly and encouraging of Bradley... but NO payup!

He can't play the "oh, forgot - silly me" game... cause if they win the B10 Tourney and (I think they coulda won 1 in the NCAA)... and if we woulda been passed over for postseason, I lose.

I am waiting. He HAS to bring it up. Can't wait to let him know I am gonna frame it and tell him I OWN him for a year.

LOL!

MM, can't you just hate Indiana like a good boy? You don't have to like Illinois, just substitute your hatred of Illinois for Indiana haha ;)

Can't do it.

This guy even said to me when one of his his kids was at UIUC (in the past 2-3 years), his/her friends on campus had never heard of Bradley or Peoria.

Yet they are in a school supposedly of the highest learning in the state of Illinois.

Give me a freakin break.

I don't tolerate ignorance and arrogance - and especially both.

I dislike UIUC, always have. I hate seeing Illinois merchandise prominently displayed in front of Bradley stuff in Peoria stores... So I feel you MM. If you need someone to come in and get that dollar the hard way, just let me know...

shouldn't we use the comparative

shouldn't we use the comparative

speaking of ignorance, it should probably be "more wins" right?
j/k mm

Here's even more news that will surprise many....
Illinois is bragged up as a program that has won a lot of games lately.......
but here are the facts............

This year..........................BU 21 wins, Illinois 16 wins
Past TWO years combined...BU 43 wins, Illinois 39 wins
Past three years combined...BU 65 wins, Illinois 65 wins (plus BU can still add to this total)
(ps-- two of those seasons Bradley had a stronger SOS than Illinois!)

So I am a little slow here, but.... "are we trending upward or downward? same information. many interpretations."

OK, those people are in absolute denial. I had a teacher who graduated from UIUC, about ten years ago, Champaign native, actually. We have often chatted about BU and she recalls looking at going to school there and acknowledges knowing friends who attended Bradley.

As an added "nugget", perhaps BU should expect a rise in enrollment, since now the cost of a BU education can actually be less than that of a state school. U of I now costs 24,000 dollars per year, for an in-state student planning to live on campus. That means tuition alone is somewhere around $16,000 a year in-state. The average cost of attendance with RandB for an out of state student is somewhere between $38,000 and $42,000.

It's quite possible that these kids weren't from Illinois, or even the United States. I don't expect everyone in the nation to know about Bradley or Peoria. I wouldn't call a New Yorker ignorant or arrogant if they didn't know where Bradley was located - obviously ESPN doesn't know!

Chicago

That would explain it. Not that I am saying all people from Chicago are like this, but a good deal of kids I meet from Chicago are quite arrogant and ignorant.

When you grow up around Chicago, 99.9% of athletics coverage in the media is pro.
I grew up in a northern 'burb, frequently listened to 670 (started when it was all news) and have absolutely no recollection of the '89 Flying Illini when it happened. (Even though I considered UIUC as a top academic college choice)
