Final score-- Tulsa 70 Bradley 64

we needed to attempt more than 6 free throws. would have been nice to see someone, anyone flash to the free throw line in the middle of their zone to try and open some lanes.

SM was lost in our zone D a couple times in transition after we were up 16-2... this let them run off 7 straight.

He also made a risky play helping down low when our man(Wilson I think) had perfect position with about 2:20 to play... they kick it back to the guy SM should have had and nail a crucial 3 pointer. That hurt.

They were tired from 3 games in 5 days with long travel between each game. That was a big reason for the lousy shooting in the second half. Sam played well, and set the freshman record for 3's tonight at 55 for the season.

Not only that, but Sam hit the big clutch 3 pointers in the last two games that this team needed to stand a chance. Way to go Sammy! You've got a great career ahead of you at BU!!!! :) :) :)

3 games in 5 days (in April, games 36-38 ) must be brutal. To be fair, SM did hit some huge shots. Especially for a freshman in postseason.

I was about to say especially for a freshman who logged the third-highest number of minutes this season and being one of just three players to play in all 38 games. Many teams in the Valley would love to get that production from a true freshman!

I'm sure Tulsa was tired too, but they had the benefit of that sixth man to will them to a victory. And they had a little more luck in getting shots to fall at the end. Those things happen. Unfortunately we could not get the job done, but a great run it was! Not many teams can say they made it to the championship game/round of a postseason tournament. And the benefit to the players returning next year is priceless.

Players will tell you that when they are tired from playing a lot of games i a short stretch, it really helps to be able to sleep in your own bed, That always favors the home team.
This is always seem in the conference tournaments that are played on campus sites. The home teams usually upset the conference leaders. When the MVC played on campous sites, I think the home team won nearly every year.

I realize it's impossible to play these games at a neutral site, but the home court advantage is huge.

And I just wanna say... I am not blaming the CBI or Disney for the loss of the Championship for whatever reason....

Tulsa is a good team who won fair and square.

I personally like these games played on campus sites, but it seems like it would be a roll of the dice to where the CBI would place us if we ended up in the CBI finals again. Of course we have the potential to draw more fans than Tulsa would, but I would think the CBI might give us the higher seed if we made it this far again.

By the way, I have updated the Jim Les Wikipedia page to reflect tonight's result. Someone else initiated the page, but I have been updating the 2008 stats most of this season.

Why not play the first 2 games 1 and 1 and then the third if needed on a neutral site?

The number of games probably is difficult, but the real difficulty probably comes with the travel combination. These guys play basketball every day and are in great shape so I won??™t blame the loss on the number of games. Congratulations to Tulsa. Please come back to the MVC.

I am sure our guys ran out of gas, as we had to play 3 of the final four games on the road over a span of only a little more than a week
Tulsa got to play 3 of their final 4 at home, way less travel.......

Plus, all year we have gone with shortened rotations because of injuries
and five of our players logged over 900 minutes.
I note that not one of Tulsa's players logged as many minutes on the season as Jeremy Crouch did, and they had fewer over that 900 mark.
Also, Tulsa played ONLY 14 true road games while BU played 16.

In the end, I am proud of our guys and wish JC, DR, and Matt well in the future while looking forward to next year!

It wouldn't be practical to book (and pay up-front) for a neutral venue that might not be necessary. I think Doug Elgin's idea is a good one, although the tournament management would not agree from a financial standpoint. Any neutral site would not generate much in the way of attendance. Either way, they need to do something to level the playing field for the finals if they ever expect this to be a credible tournament.

Ugly game for the Braves. Good to see the returning guys (Theron, Sam, Andrew) play well. Tough way to go out for Jeremy and Daniel (4-28 combined shooting). Tulsa made the proper adjustments and Bradley didn't respond on this night. Congrats to Tulsa.

Now on to next year.
