Funny Thread on Nevada Preps Board

I found this thread on their prep basketball board...

Titled:
"anybody know what Darian Norris is going to do now that he got released from the LOI?"

and the thread finally courses to Darian's commitment to Bradley, then some guy with the screen name
"SmarterThanErrbody"

says this......
"I wish Darian all the success possible, but we're talking about Bradley in Peoria,
Ill right? Has he been there? It's a $h!t hole of a town and will be total culture
shock. I mean, a complete dump. Tiny school too."

Also, one Nevada prep site has a little more on Darian....and a report from their equivalent of March Madness

"Here is the all-tournament team, and the tournament MVP as well.

Darian Norris (LV Dynasty)- MVP - He simply proved to be un-checkable all weekend as any and everybody from opposing teams had a hard time staying in front of him. When he wasn't blowing by defenders, he was shooting the 3 ball from distance. Simply nobody played better for their team with the game on the line. And he lead his team to the championship to top it off."

That person has never been to a BU home game and I guarantee you that we have a lot more fan support then UNLV and he will be very happy with his decision as there is plenty to do in the Peoria area.

Yea... too bad U. of Nevada is in Reno. ;)

But I knew a guy that worked in Reno for a while and he said the town looked it's best when it was in his rear view mirror for the last time.

LOL!

Who made reference to U of Nevada? He said UNLV, and that's most definitely in Las Vegas...

Ignorance abounds in this world. This person is obviously a mental midget.

Link please? :p

The board is a premium board, so I won't give the link, but...

I responded with this post...........

Likely you've never been east of the Rockies, as this is an absolutely ridiculous assessment, considering 99% of Nevada is desolate and unlivable and looks more like the moon's surface than a paradise.
Bradley University ranks among the top 25 Division I schools all time in wins and among the top 50 nationally every year in attendance, and is one of only a handful of schools that has won 21 or more games in each of the past 3 seasons (UNLV, by the way, is NOT).
Hey, I agree it's not Duke or even UCLA, but there are worse places, and where Darian had previously committed (South Carolina State) is one of the worst D-I programs now or ever.
Just realize if Central Illinois is so bad, then you guys have some explaining to do as to why your coach lived and worked there for several years and comes recruiting there for talent like Beas Hamga.

By the way, here's what Darian himself and his family say about Bradley and Peoria:
"We were going to visit some other schools but after what Darian saw this weekend, he knows that Bradley is a perfect fit," said Norris' father Walter Norris. "The academics are impressive with small classes and top notch instruction. They also have a great coaching staff, and we're very impressed with Coach Les. He was a point guard and has NBA experience. The coaching at Bradley is great, and it's a good system for Darian."

and this, too
""We loved it, we loved everything about it," said Curt Norris. "We loved the community, the campus, the coaching staff. And especially, Darian liked their playing style. They run a fast-paced game with a lot of ball screens. That's what he's used to doing. It fits his skill set."
"Bradley is just such a good situation for me," said Darian Norris, who plans to arrive on campus for second summer semester. "All the lights and everything (of Las Vegas) don't really affect me. I'd rather be in a city that isn't as busy."

Fact: Bradley games draw more attendance than Pirates games(MLB).
