Hello everybody this is my first post. Before I get to the fieldhouse, I must say that these forums are a blast. I love BU basketball and I have become an addict to this site. Great info, great fans and I am so happy to see the passion displayed on these threads. I now just wish I would have found this earlier.

Being new I don't know who does this but they are doing a great job. I have looked at many other fan sites and this is the best I've seen.

I have a friend who moved from Peoria and ended up in Reno and administers the Nevada Wolfpack site. He puts a ton of time into it so I it takes some dedication to do what you have done. Great job!

OK now on topic, I work for a contractor that is involved in all the BU construction projects. I got to take part in the salvage of the Fieldhouse prior to the demo beginning. I watched them remove the floor piece by piece. Basically every piece of potential history that could be saved, was saved.

I think BU has done a great job and even though the Fieldhouse will be gone, I think they have some nice plans to display some of these things for the fans in the new buildings.

Being a longtime BU fan I hate to see it go, I loved to watch ballgames in that building. Hopefully the upgrade of facilities will help keep this program moving forward.

Thanks again for this site!

Thanks Nomarbridge! It is the incredible Bradley fans that make this site so great. We're glad you are here. I continue to meet other loyal BU fans that haven't heard of BradleyFans.com yet, so I know there must be many more out there. Help us spread the word.

It does take a little time to run the site, but it is a labor of love.
We also have some great help from our moderators, and a lot of great contributors.

Nomarbridge, how long do they think it will take to bring the Field House down? You can thank Da Coach and Tornado for Bradleyfans, they do a great job and run a great board.

I am not part of the destruction crew so I don't exactly know. I don't think it will take long. These projects have strict deadlines and I'm sure the faster it is gone the sooner the new arena can start.

Keep up the good work!!! I love the pics and I hope I get to see the final product in the next 2 years. When is the new facility due to open?

Last I heard the Markin Center is supposed to be done by October. I have no idea for the fieldhouse though.

As a side note, for those who mentioned Bradley needs to have a Webcam to show the construction, they have one at http://explore.bradley.edu/construction/
The webcam shows the construction on the Markin Center

The rec center is ahead of schedule which was projected to be done in October. I heard that it could be done by the start of fall classes.

The new field house is supposed to be done fall of 2010.

Morgan hall needs to come down...it's blocking the new big beautiful building....

Now that things are changing you have to wonder how Bradley ever got quality recruiting to come there. I know the education is first class and we have a great tradition but come on, the campus and athletic facilities are well below standard. I think all the new changes are going to make a huge difference in recruiting, you may see some 4 star recruits sign that would not have with out the upgrades. Am I off track or does everyone else think this is a big deal for Bradley basketball?

Whats the latest, I would assume that there is a vacant lot where the field house use to be? Any new pictures of construction out there?

I don't have any finals tomorrow so I'll take a walk by the Markin Center, Parking deck, and where the fieldhouse used to be and take some new pictures.
