Things I would like to see.....

New member
...at Carver next year.

Sell outs......discount the top 1000 seats. $5.00. Get those that WANT to go but can't afford to take a family of 4 in for $20.00

A NEW and IMPROVED video scoreboard. The one they have now is awful....need a bigger and better picture, PERIOD

The Riverman Hockey sign covered up with a BRADLEY BRAVES sign for BU games. We are NOT the Rivermen and I have always hated seeing the sign during the games.

A intro somewhat like the one we all love with DR holding the number 1 sign at the end but a bit shorter.

All RED all the time. Make a push for 99% compliance. In stead of kiss cam have a Red cam....you focus in on someone not wearing red....offer them a red T and see if they put it on while on camera. Arm students with 500-1000 red T's every game and have them hand em out as needed.

Less comercials more band.

NEW acts....sorry quick change...you gotta go....YIKES.

Big rally by the team and BU does the surfboard buzz kill. Its gotta go also.

I realize its next to impossible but both end zones SRO for students and anyone else that wishes to stand and get loud the entire game. I also think students should get in free. We need more there. Can't force them and BU does a good job...but they must do better...somehow.

Obviously scheduling and an exciting team is the BEST way to get the place revved up. I see a team that will be very eciting next year as JL wants to be even more uptempo and should be able to run more with more guards.

Just some thoughts......interested to hear others.

I'd lke to see 14-0 next year!

I agree with;
Red should be worn at all games
Scoreboard needs to be replaced
better student attendance
kiss cam to red cam sounds good
win every home game

DRU, I like your ideas. Also would like to see a continuation of pre-game rallys for big games.. --maybe even a more organized pre-game rally for other games as well----

It's really not the money at ALL, that keeps students from coming. I'm trying to think of ways to get more people to the games. I think BU Sports Marketing should try to reach out to RA's and get the freshman to come early. Being an RA I know how much we can get people started on something.

I think that you bring up a very solid point here. I work with a person who is a recent Bradley grad and at times we will talk about BU and basketball. Long story short, this person hasnt been to a Bradley game in three years!
Your point about BU sports marketing is also dead on accurate.

Don't see why BU marketing has to be involved. The students know when and where the game is. All they have to do is show up and support their team.

I think you need to get the students involved at the start of the season. Provide some kind of incentive for them to attend the Red White scrimmage and follow that with a first home game incentive. Then for the first road game that is televised throw a party in the student center. Give them a taste of the excitement early and often.

Nothing but the band and the cheerleaders during all timeouts. Stop the goofy promotions and PA announcements. Time for that stuff before the game and at halftime.

As part of this, produce a highlight film. It should feature the student section at Carver, game action at Carver, and the Sweet 16 run including the telecast at the Field House for the Memphis game. Show it at the freshman orientation. And that's where you could hand out tix for redemption for free stuff at the Red White scrimmage.

THATS the kind of creative thinking that I'm talking about. We need new ideas..the old status quo isn't working.

I'm a solutions oriented guy. I've other ideas, too. Some corporations have causal Fridays for their staff. How about sports (mainly bball) gear Fridays for the profs and staff? Have a drawing for those who participate.

DRU,
I agree with all these solid ideas except that SRO in the opposite endzone of the students. (you know that will obstruct my view HAHA)
But we need to expand on the pre-game thought. It is time for some one to run the Braves Club the way it used to be run. To actually get people involved and excited about the upcoming game. You and I and the others have discussed what you get for the money and it has become a waste of a donation. I alone could double the 1k donation I make to the university through my matching grants program at work if I gave it to anything else at the hilltop. That is what the wife is pushing for next year. Make the club room worth taking the time to go to. Discount the drinks (or buy them for the members) Have the old free chili and soups like we used to do at the TT Mall. Have someone with a clue who can see outside of the box go and look at what the other schools booster clubs are doing. At St. Louis I am always embarrassed by what SIU, CU and even ISU are doing for their faithful. We should be having more than 2 pre games a year. There should be something before every home game! We all do the same "where are we going to meet before the game?" and that is usually up to 2 hours prior. Give us a reason to be a Braves Club member! Free hotdogs and beer don't cost enough to put the club in red! If the PCC can't handle it or require to much, look at getting an area close to it downtown. You could probably get a better deal and more people at one of the Hotel banquet rooms.
ANYONE ELSE WITH AN IDEA FOR THIS DYING CLUB?!

I shouldn't say it isn't working as BU is top 50 attendance year in and year out...what I should say is we should quit resting on our laurels. We can and should expect sellouts for every game.......

11,400 every game all in red.

It CAN be done.

Exactly! And you want to get as MANY students involved as possible as often as possible. Besides creating a better atmosphere for all, don't forget the students of today are the fanbase / donors of tomorrow.

Well said........ BU games are an EVENT and should be treated like one for EVERY home game.

How do you make an MSU type atmosphere for every game. Is it tough of course but there are some intelligent people at BU and in the stands that could get it done.

My ideas are just brainstorming to get things going. I certainly don't have all the answers if any.

As we all know people are lisitening (reading the board) from BU. I'm NOT being critical of our admins. I think, for the MOST part, they do a great job.

I just think we can take this to another level......obviously, as I stated, good home competition and a good team is the BEST way to rock the house but as a fan I don't control that.

As a fan though I CAN help be creating the BEST homecourt advantage I can.

All Quick Change, all the time...

Quick Change, once a year, is very, very helpful in getting people to make a game on a bad winter weather night. I think too many SO's normally say, "There's other games this season, lets play it safe and avoid the weather. But on Quick Change night, you gotta go because there will be no other chance. If Quick Change were more often, then people may miss a game because there will be another chance.

Better attendance can only happen if every game is too meaningful to pass up. Or if 95% of tickets are season tickets, then the other people need to line up at the beginning of the season to hope to see Bradley play once (much like Wrigley seats)
