Proof That USC Should Have Known About Mayo's Issues

This article says that Mayo wanted desperately to come to Kansas State and be with Bob Huggins but had the door slammed in his face by Huggy & the administration and AD at K-State because his issues were well known and they knew he'd be a huge problem for them because he'd been receiving cash for years!!

"Mayo was on the phone with Huggins, "begging to come here" around the time of national letter-of-intent signing day a year ago.
Huggins told him no, Underwood said, because he thought Mayo would get in trouble because of money funneled to him and a friend prior to enrolling in college."

They told Mayo:
"We're not going to take you. You'll never pass (clear the NCAA amateur clearinghouse rules."

By the way, in addition to Kansas State's two best players (Michael Beasley and Bill Walker) both leaving, it appears that two of their next best players (who started many games) also aren't coming back.
David Hoskins thought he'd be granted a medical redhsirt, but was denied, so he is done, and juco Andre Gilbert who chose to go to K-State over an offer from BU, will not be back with the team.

For the record, Bill Walker has not hired an agent, so he could return to Kansas State. And recent reports say he appears to have fallen to the bottom of the first round of the NBA draft, so he might be better to return for another year. Without Michael Beasley, Walker might have a chance to blossom into a much better player.-

Here are a couple other NBA draft articles--
Brandon Rush impressed scouts at the Chicago camp and seems to be a mid-first round pick--

And O.J. Mayo has dumped his agency (the one responsible for all the illegal benefits he got in high school and college), and now his mother is acting as his agent!--

I just wanna say....

This is all good stuff.

I know it isn't Bradley news. But this is all good stuff the average schmoe on the street has no clue about what is going on.

Thanks for the info. I remember when Walker was a HS senior he was supposed to be "all that and a bag of chips". I think he needs to stay at KSU to "re-energize" his stock. If he stays in the draft he will not make an NBA team and will never be heard from again. College is his chance to work on his overall skills and shoot for being a lottery pick next year.

I think we will not only see Bill Walker go in the draft this year, but he will go way higher than 2nd round, that some people have predicted.

Just read a couple of the reports from those who have seen Bill Walker doing some private and individual workouts for some of the NBA teams.

From a report out of Chicago:
"We got to see Bill Walker... work out. He looked phenomenal.
I saw him dunk on Antoine Walker. He has lost about 20 pounds and
is a jumping jack again. He looked like the old Bill."

Also from Chicago (open workout that lots of scouts from several teams were at):
"Kansas University’s Brandon Rush, Kansas State’s Bill Walker and
several other college standouts have been working out in Chicago the
past several weeks under the direction of Tim Grover, who is regarded
as one of the top athletic trainers in the world.
Walker — who also impressed Ford — says he’ll remain in the draft if he
believes he’s a first-round pick."

A comment from someone familiar with the Cavaliers - who have pick #19:
"In 2008 the need, as has been throughout James' career, is a point guard....
(but)...I'd rather see a proven scorer, maybe Chris Douglas-Roberts of Memphis,
or Bill Walker of Kansas State."

and here's a whole article detailing how Bill Walker is wowing them in the workouts and is almost sure to be a first rounder.
He has already said if he is a first rounder, he'll go in the draft.
"...a different Walker is on the court. Walker has dropped nearly 30 pounds
and has totally rehabbed his knee, and I'm happy to report he is dropping highlight
reel dunks by the minute.
"He's been an animal in here," Grover said. "He wants it. He's been working really hard,
and it's paying off. He's so explosive, and he's always in attack mode."

"ESPN predicts Walker to go in the mid- to late-first round"

Then just for comparison, here are a couple guys who left early, were drafted, then disappeared.
