Molinari's First Three Recruits

tornado

New member
They are all guards and Jim got the jump on them from his contacts he made while at Ball State.
Rumors are that he's about to land a big man................

Stanley Elliott, a 6'3" shooting guard from Newark, NJ, Science Park HS
"a slim athletic wing who can shoot the open three-ball and create shots off the dribble. His long arms and leaping ability help aide his strong defensive prowess.

These are some of his accomplishments...
1st Team All Conference North Jersey Section 1 1st Team All County Group 1
1st Team All Newark
1st Team All Senior
2nd Team All County Essex County
Ranked 38th in the State New Jersey
Mcdonald's All-American Nominee
Avg. 16 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, and three assists"

Elliott is #5

Kirby Quenton, a 6'2", 190 lb junior college player (combo guard) from McLennan College, Waco, TX. (also from Weimar HS, Weimar, TX)
"a good shooter who works to get open and can stroke it from the 3 point line. He is a nice athlete, moves well without the ball, has a smooth stroke and is a solid defender."

Tommie Tyler, a 6'3", 185 lb combo guard/PG out of Houston (Langham Creek HS).
"Coach (Jim) Molinari came in and saw me play in open gym. I like what he's been able to do in his coaching (career) and I felt comfortable with him so I signed."
The plan for Tyler at Western Illinois is to utilize him at the two, another thing he felt comfortable with. "I'm going to come off screens and shoot it...
TOMMIE is a very athletic wing who can slash to the hole and finish strong at the rim. He is a very good leaper, runs the lanes hard in transition, elevates and finishes high in traffic and can take contact and finish in the paint. He has a solid mid-range game, will pull up for the 15-17 foot jumper and will hit the open 3 point shot. He has good speed and quickness, has a solid basketball build and can defend on the wing."

Big shocker that Mo's first 3 recruits are all athletes who can also play
defense. Won't be surprised to see them contend for their conference
championship in the very near future.

Hey-- I saw Mo in Peoria yesterday, he was at a local basketball camp that two
of his kids were attending. Maybe he writes these trips off as recruiting trips? ;)
