A couple of kids BU was recruiting are having trouble getting cleared to play......and a few notes on some other stories in college basketball.
WARNING:...if you don't want to hear about kids at other schools, look away from the screen!
Lewis Jackson, has reportedly still not yet gotten a passing test score, and has not yet been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Reportedly the same is true of one or two SIU's recruits but there's still time to take the ACT once more, as the final offering is this Saturday, June 14!!
A couple brand new reports confirm that it IS Bobby Hill and his brother who are at the center of the eligibility issues at Vashon HS, and whose acceptance of impermissible benefits are responsible for the recent decision to strip Vashon of its titles from 2001-2006.
However, I have also heard that ISU will hold Hill out of any official activity at ISU until the NCAA rules on his eligiblity at the D-I level.
BUT...Hill isn't likely to be doing much on court or in the gym, as he just had surgery.
There is a brand new article by Pantagraph reporter Jim Benson saying Hill's knee surgery went well.

ISU also has another kid on campus and enrolled, even though they don't have a scholarship to give him, apparently.
That is unless head coach Tim Jankovich boots yet another player, which is almost certain since Kellen Thornton came all the way from a prep school on the east coast, so I doubt he is paying his own way.
One other of the ISU recruits, Lloyd Phillips, a juco guard out of Iowa, still hasn't finished his academic work and has yet to get his junior college associate degree, and is staying in summer school at Iowa Western CC, and has not yet arrived at ISU.
BUT-- here's the really oddball story, although I don't know if BU ever recruited this kid...
Robbie Hummel, outstanding forward at Purdue is in the news.......
"Hummel deals with salmonella poisoning"
"Purdue forward and Valpo High grad Robbie Hummel has had a pretty adventurous summer so far.
He took a trip to Los Angeles where he toured Venice Beach and Huntington Beach. He also attended a Dodgers game against the Mets.
While in Los Angeles, though, Hummel ended up getting salmonella poisoning at the airport McDonald's.
He was later hospitalized and the illness was diagnosed and treated.
Hummel said he went from 205 pounds to 189 with the illness, but is back to 195 now.
While the salmonella poisoning was nasty, Hummel also had his tonsils removed a few weeks ago and said he feels much better after having the surgery.
On the lighter side, the Boilers' star was able to get away and do some fishing recently with his dad and uncle at Pelican Lake in Minnesota.
"I love it,'' said Hummel, who caught walleye, northern pike, bass and a few perch. "It's fun. I love relaxing and getting away from stuff.''
