A new name has surfaced, a juco big man that that Bradley is recruiting.
Matt Read is a 6'9", 225 power forward at Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas. He is originally from Weatherford, TX, near Fort Worth. He spent one year at Texas-Arlington where he played his freshman season in 2006-2007. Then he was injured and redshirted his 2nd year, and now has transferred to CCCC. He has played well at some summer events and colleges have taken notice.
He has a lot of offers, according to Rivals (see profile below), and one of them is from Bradley.

Matt Read says this............right after the list of schools tha have already offered - including Bradley..

"Other high-major conference programs have shown plenty of interest too.

"Pat Knight from Texas Tech said that he's going to start recruiting me and Coach (Chuck) Driesell from Maryland said that they were very interested," Read said. "There's also Wichita State, Seton Hall, Oklahoma......"

GOOD, finally someone includes the Missouri Valley with the "high-major conference"

also, I found this a little humorous.....see what you think.....

"Coach (Rick) Majerus from St. Louis came to Ballstars to watch me,
and from what my dad tells me he took pages and pages of notes," Read said.
"He was taking notes on crazy stuff like how I was warming up or
how my first three steps were after I threw an in-bounds pass.
It just goes to show how his basektball IQ and knowledge is phenomenal."

I just hope our coaching staff has as much "basektball IQ"

As much as Rick Majerus? Me to.

New article on junior college power forward Matt Read--

It's a premium article, but here is a summary:
Matt Read had an initial list of 49 colleges interested in him! He looks at the profiles on Rivals and realized his school list was the longest one he saw, so he trimmed the list of 49 down to 11. Bradley made the cut. Other schools are trying to get involved, but Read would prefer to stick with the list of schools he has developed a relationship with.

"I'm down from 49 schools to 11 schools right now," Read said. "In no particular order, they are Utah state, Auburn, TCU, South Alabama, Pacific, Bradley, Michigan, Arizona State, St. Louis, Utah, and Stephen F. Austin. Basically I'm down to these schools based on how well they have been recruiting me and the relationships that we've built."

Of his final 11, all but Michigan and Arizona State have offered, with both programs wanting to see him play one more time before putting an offer on the table. He is now beginning to plan visits.

Matt Read becomes the 3rd former Bradley recruit for 2009 to commit to Utah. He joins Marshall Henderson and Shawn Glover as other recruits that had considered Bradley before settling for Utah.:D
Matt made his verbal commitment while on a trip to the University of Utah yesterday (9/27/08).

Here is his Rivals profile, and it does not show Bradley any more. It is likely Bradley pulled their offer off the table after getting commitments from Milos Knezevic, Taylor Brown, Jordan Prosser, and John Wilkins, as well as Sean Harrris for 2010.
