Here is more about how the Top of the World Classic failed this year--

Note the mention near the bottom about one team that refused to play in the tournament because they would have been placed in the same 3-team pool as Bradley and Stanford. Many teams were offered financial deals to play in the Classic that were much larger than Bradley's, but they still couldn't get enough participants.

"The men??™s basketball team??™s withdrawal from the Top of the World Classic in Alaska and its entrance into the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic in Hawaii highlighted the schedule changes announced Tuesday by athletics
director Ken Kavanagh"

I'd pick the Rainbow Classic over going Fairbanks any day of the week (Sorry Will!).

Is this a scoop? I checked the BU web site and pjstar and did not see any mention of BU playing in hawaii.

After reading that story, I have now firmly placed Morehead State on my very short list
of NCAA D-I teams that I hate for good reason. Not only are they whining
because someone might have been offered more money than they were, they
pulled out of the tournament for very, very selfish reasons after they had given their committment,
and thus they essentially caused the whole thing to fail, burning at least five other teams in the process.
They are scum, they have no integrity, and they think only of themselves.
I vow to do whatever I can to help keep their crummy name on the front page, so people know how
selfish they are.

Morehead State -- sub .500 for five years and running....including one great season of 3-23 with D-I's worst RPI and SOS!

I'll bump this up to keep the scum Morehead State on top of the pile! :D

Now who in the world would not want to be in the same 3-team pool with Stanford?

Kinda reminds me of good ol' Thornton Mellon's great advice: "Always look out for #1, just don't step in #2."

I think Morehead State has some shoes to hose off....
