2008-2009 Prospectus

Just curious....why hasn't James Robertson been listed on the roster yet? It was reported more than two months ago that he would be on the team.

I just found out the real reason--
James Robertson is a bit unique compared to the rest of the players. He has not signed a LOI, and because he is a walkon, he will not sign a standard scholarship agreement with Bradley. In cases like this where there is nothing officially binding him to Bradley until he actually enrolls and begins classes, the NCAA considers that he is still a recruitable athlete by any other college. The NCAA does not allow anyone who holds an official position at Bradley to comment on him other than to acknowledge that he has verbally committed. Therefore, they removed his name from the roster and the prospectus.
I am not sure that any decision will be officially made about a redshirt until he is at Bradley.

Wouldn't Taylor Brown be under the same restrictions given his situation? I would think so since he has not signed anything and only enrolling in classes binds him to BU. However, he is listed in the prospectus.

Taylor Brown will be a scholarship athlete, unlike James Robertson. The NCAA recognizes the standard Scholarship Agreement that all NCAA schools have their scholarship athletes sign as a binding agreement along with the LOI, and therefore, those athletes can be discussed and listed publically.

I found something interesting......

If you look at the 3rd page, you can see where there is a black box on the left where it says TBA for the schedule. However, if you look at the very bottom you can see the tail of a letter sticking out. Obviously, something was in place but not complete and they just drew a box over it. BUT you can highlight the text behind and copy and paste....so here it is....

Looks like this was as of May 15 and I think most of these non-conference games were known about. The SIU-E, Texas Pan-Am, and Milwaukee games are news to me though. Did anyone else know about those?

That information has to be several weeks old, since it still shows the Top of the World classic. So other games and dates might have changed, too.

SIUE is officially a DI school now in the Ohio Valley Conference

It's nice that Lennox can come back for a game in Peoria, I'm sure it won't be an entirely pleasent trip though. :)

Does anyone know if Sahiou is still on the team down there, last time I talked to him he was basically riding the pine.

I asked the same to some of my friends who go to SIUE and follow basketball...they said he's gone. Don't quote me on that, but I heard he wasn't doing well and he left.

I know you aren't suggesting LF and Bradley have a bad relationship. You were hinting SIU-E would get beat. ;)

But I just wanted to add something I thought was interesting in an observation at the MVC Tourney in St Louis. On Friday during the first game (and there weren't a ton of people there), I went to a less populated section to watch the game before going in for the Bradley game. I sat just a couple rows up and about 20 seats over from LF who was sitting in the upper section of the lower bowl with Marty Simmons and some Evansville people. Just a casual hanging out. They all looked comfortable together. I said hi to LF and he said the same back.

Just thought it was kinda neat to see the new SIUE coach sitting with the old SIUE coach who is now coaching at EU... and the old EU coach is an Assistant for Bradley. :-P :D
