Prosser & "offers"

brocks

Have noticed on lots of message boards that the BCS types at Indiana, Wisconsin et al who missed out on JP have a common refrain: that guy wasn't BCS material and did NOT have an offer.

But isn't that bogus? Even DR's article refers to offers as having been "pulled." They weren't "pulled," thet were "filled." And as for Indiana, it looks to me an awful lot like it was Prosser who lost interest, NOT Indiana.

Doesn't JL have offers out to around a dozen kids for 2009 even tho only 2 spots are open? That means if Brown & Simms-Edwards commit tomorrow, the other offers are void. But it does not mean tht Bradley did not OFFER the other 10 schollies.

Just strange how this debate wouldn't even come up if a kid waited til all Duke's spots were filled and then chose Kansas. The headline would be simple: "John Doe chose KU over offer from Duke."

What really matters is he has chosen Bradley and we are happy to have him.

Amen Real Fan....Let's forget or care what the other guys have to say, it makes us look insecure. I trust JL and his staff's judgement and to hell with ratings. We will go to battle with what we have on the court regardless of rating.

Gary Williams won a national championship with 0 McDonalds and players who became stars that were not recruited that hard.

There are several articles on several of the 'expert' sites that talk about him getting offer after offer from the BCS. Either those sites are stealing money from subscribers and publishing completely false and inaccurate information (another debate altogether), or he had several BCS offers. At the time, those articles made the BCS schools look like they were after a hot commodity. When he chose little ole BU, well, either someone just got beat by a mid-major for a recruit, or those sites, and hundreds of message board posters months earlier were lying. Take your pick.

There is an old saying from back when I was a blacksmith shoeing horses that went, how did it go?, oh yeah, "strike while the iron is hot".

I don't really know what it means but it sounds cool and wise.

Sometimes BCS schools are not as great as they appear. When you evaluate the Big 10 and Big 12 combined...the cities they are located in are not better than Peoria (Boulder, Colorado and Austin, Texas excluded).

We play in a pretty good arena with numerous loyal fans and are investing a lot of $ in new practice facilities.

What's not to like about little ole' BU?

There are always different ways at perceiving situations...and more often than not, people will choose the perception they feel best with.

Hey! We often disagree and I'm usually right so I can deal with that.;)
Your av is quite un-politically correct.
