OT - Renegade Councilwoman?

Since I actually have paid a lot of bucks to Bradley, rather than the other way around, does that make my opinions even more valid and unbiased?

I got the brochue, 3 times, and it was left twice on my windshield. Since those 3 or 4 days of holding back from unleashing my bad side on Rand, I have made it a point to confuse the living hell out of him and his cronies.

1. I got a Culligan machine. Not just because Peoria water sucks, but because I can constantly walk to class, and around the neighborhood, with a red plastic cups full of high quality h2o.

2. I play sports in the street, on the sidewalk, and in my yard. And loudly.

3. I keep having friends from Chicago come into town so they really have no clue who lives in my house.

4. I call every Peoria cab company when I need one, and tell them all to honk when they arrive. Preferrably multiple times because my music is so loud I can't hear them.

5. I take my trash out on Friday afternoon, right after the trash truck leaves. Why? Because Rand is apparently also going up and down alleys making sure noone has too much trash.

6. I shave everyday. I look about 5 years younger when I do so Rand will think I'm 18 with a red plastic cup, playing sports in the street.

I encourage anyone else in the neighborhood to join me and similarly confuse him. Then, he will get sick of his life work, and maybe get back to real work. I know a few of his employees and they all hate the sorry sapsucker too.

On topic, but totally different is the PJS. I have posted over 10 times over there. None of them were vicious, they just made good sense. Apparently that is against rule #7 over there. If you make sense and sound like you have a lick of knowledge, your post will be removed immediately as it confuses all the others. ZERO of my posts have lasted more than 15 minutes. Not surprising.

IF you had a post removed here because it was nasty, please PM it to me. I'd like to have a good laugh.

When I was at BU, there were some guys who rented a house on Moss with great views toward the bluff. The place had a great party deck. I don't recall any of the neighbors getting their nose(s) out of joint.

Students need to just ignore the behavior of the local Senator Joseph McCarthy Neighborhood Supper Club. Don't be tricked in retaliating and give them legal grounds to take action. Just stay being normal college students which will continue to pi$$ them off.

This is really sickening. I'm 40 years old. Was prez of Phi Tau 20 years ago. That was when the keg ban got started, as though banning kegs would make any difference.

Aging 20 years hasn't made me such an old crotch that I don't know (and even enjoy) that kids in 2008 will have fun just like WE kids did way back when. This moralizing, holier-than-thou, busy-body, intrusive, clueless, shreeking hack should be impeached. If I lived in Ptown, I'd lead the charge.

I completely agree now, however 10 years ago this guy would have been in big trouble.

Sorry, but the censorship committe held a late night meeting and decided that this topic had veered a little too far off-course with personal attacks

Hmm.

Although to post something that pertains to this comment, I hosted a keg the other weekend at my home. We used blue and green cups, and all who were attended were of age. I wonder what our esteemed councilwoman would have said to a group (20-25) OF AGE individuals enjoying alcohol from a blue cup?

I think the General Sports Discussion Forum needs to be retitled as General Discussion. And then I think this thread needs to be moved there. JMHO. ;)

Just to be fair, there IS a warning in the title. The infamous "OT" is clearly stated warning all who don't care about anything on this board other than basketball to steer clear of the "off-topic" material contained in a such labeled thread.

That being said, I just think some people get a kick out of this topic, and like to have easy access to it. Well...."easier".

Hey Mob this is a sport! We are taking aim at this woman who obviously despises BU more then anyone at ISU does. The sport is to see her defeated next election. For the good of BU this woman has to go!

I vote to keep it here!

I laugh at these people who buy houses near college campuses and then complain about noise, parties, traffic, music, etc.

Really? College kids do those things? Who knew?

You can't move into a neighborhood that has LONG been established and then, because you now live there, demand the neighborhood and neighbors change. it's not like that area near Bradley just now became a place for college kids, frats, etc.

Sadly, this just doesn't happen at BU. I hear of it in a lot of college towns. To me, if you take away the frats, the noise, the traffic, the kids, etc it takes away the "charm" of living near a campus. You have to take the "good" with the "bad".

Did you guys read the venom from some of the posters especially from one of them? There is a ton of anger and inferiority complex from some of the local residents. "Rich kids"? I went to Bradley and was not a rich kid just one that studied hard and my parents worked hard to be able to receive a decent education. The person writing the trash should maybe do some research and find out what percent of the student body receives student aid. What BU gives their students is the ability to move forward in life and not become a malcontent! BU a party school???? I guess he never attended college or was very social or never went to a real party school and most definitely never hung out at BU. Most places that have a group of 18-21 year olds living in close quarters usually find ways to be very social.

Also the complaining about the students making noise would be complaining (which happens) about airplane noise living by an airport.

I agree, SFP.
Unfortunately, there are elements of society that delight in fostering "class warfare" like is seen in some of those comments.

I currently live in a fraternity on the same block as Sigma Nu. And I scoff every time I read someone say something like "rich kids." I grew up in a farm with a pretty low income family, and that is the truth of well over half of my fraternity. It really just shows how uneducated people around here are.

I have met only 1 "rich" kid my entire tenure here at Bradley...and she's not even really "rich"...more so well off.

It makes me sick how much of a NON-party school Bradley is...I personally am not one but I feel bad for those who are, because Bradley is lame in that aspect. People who visit their friends and want to have a good time can't even do that by just going to some party where everyone is at. I went to Eastern once and this party had people everywhere...doors open...windows open..people on the balcony and cops driving by every 10 minutes and looking at kids drinking in the yard...didn't do A THING...I was shocked and told ppl about Bradley haha...they were shocked too
