I wonder if Warren will be fully healthy to play these games. I'd think this is where he'd get PT to work his way into the mix. Maybe not as many minutes as he'll play down the stretch since it'll be three games in a row.

Maybe this will also be the time we see more Egolf, Thompson, and Norris as they play 3 games in 3 days after a flight...

Once again, I still call for a lineup change and working in a more traditional lineup at times...

Maybe we should take a vote on who the 5 starters should be?

I have considered this, too. I am sure we will see AT and WE get more playing time with the 3 games in 3 days. Here is where Bradley's better depth will help compared to past years.

If Will and AT get some playing time they need to make the most out of it and prove to the coaching staff that they can contribute; these 3 games are important as it should give Bradley a chance to win all 3 and see which players are actually getting better, I am really looking forward to watching this team progress as I feel we have the talent on this team to have a very good season once we start shooting the ball better, our rebounding and defense is so much better then the last 2 years.

I still feel like this team would be perfect to drop into a 1-3-1 for some games....especially against the teams that have a big inside...

I really think it would help DC and SS stay out of foul trouble and it would also helps the guys around Dodie play better D...

It would also stop drives to the basket and help negate the 3-pt shots from the wings...

The only real negatives are that it doesn't help w/ rebounding...although i feel our team is athletic enough and quick enough to make up for that, and it is weak on corner 3's and fast breaks...

The real strong point is that you can trap on the wings and baselines from it and it obviously is hard to get the ball inside...

Thinking about all these things I said w/ the quickness of our guards, the long arms of Roberts, Wilson, and Brown, it just seems like the perfect defense to implement w/ the current team we have.

As I said last week, we will definitely see more of WE, AT, and some others in the first two games of the tournament next week. If we don't, then I would begin to worry about those players development.

Lots of pressure out of a 1-3-1 would be benificial as well............extend it out when needed

Exactly....that was part of my thought process with the athletes we have now...especially all the players we have w/ quick hands and long arms...

I just think it fits our personnel to perfection.

We agree...either you have played/coached it or played/coached against it heh?

It is very effective when you have the personel....we do

Stryker; What makes you think that Egolf and Thompson are going to get to play a lot more in FT.Myers? The only way I see that happening is BU has at least a 20 point lead with 10 minutes to go in the game.

I think we will have a substantial lead in the first two games. Against Richmond probably not, but UMKC and FGC? Yes I think we will dominate the first two teams.

I don't expect to see them unless they progress in practice. Obviously I really hope that happens because the better they play the better off the team is, but I don't think they are guaranteed anything at this point. One thing that Coach has always said for as long as I can remeber at least, is that the players that perform in practice will get the minutes. Obviously WE and AT haven't been doing that to his satisfaction so far, but with a week of no games I hope they prove to the coaching staff that they deserve some minutes.

I said it last year about MS and I'll say it again about SM.......he must be playing great in practice!

Are you serious? Who would have taken MS's minutes? He was far and above our best post defender and is noticeably missed this year. MS was a headache, but we still don't have anyone that plays with anywhere near his tenacity down low. I normally agree with you shanguth, because you seem to favor statistics (like myself), unfortuneately, basketball is not like baseball where stats tell everything, both MS and now SM bring ALOT to the court that can't be seen.

I'm just saying that JL has said it and many here believe it to be true.....playing time is determined by how a player practices. Obviously, I don't feel like SM has contributed too much in the first two games this season so therefore he must be playing great in practice. That's just simple logic. It doesn't mean I don't think SM is an important part of this Bradley team or that I don't believe he was an important part of last year's team. It just means he hasn't produced much at all this season when it matters. Now, I fully expect him to go out and have at least a couple really solid games against far infereior competition and hopefully get back on track! These next two games are exactly what this entire team needs right now!

I don't think we've missed MS that much so far. In fact, I don't think we've missed him at all.

It is not so simple.

Sam proved himself to be a valuable player last year, so he is not judged the same in practice as one of the new players. Sam also has value as a leader on this team, and in other ways than how many points he puts on the board.

And as I said in another thread, Sam has not been practicing as much lately, because he has had a minor injury issue. This is also likely affecting his play.

I'm just going by what we've heard more than once, and that is playing time is earned through practice. The same was said last season as to why MS was a starter.
