Egolf Injury update

Although no official announcement has come out yet that I am aware of, an ACL repair would usually require about a 6-month rehab.
 
I read in another thread that WE had only played in 5 games...so he should be eligible for the medical redshirt!

A few hours before, I said the same info. I am friends with him because we took a class together. Anyone that is Facebook friends clearly knows he is out 6 months because it has said it ever since early morning.
 
If he did tear his ACL (which I believe is the case), the good thing is that with no swelling they won't have to wait to do the surgery. If there in no meniscus damage then he won't need to be on crutches (I was on them for 6 weeks) and can begin rehab immediately.

I know it's not always the case, but in my case my surgical knee ended up being my good knee. I will say that with my injury it took me more time to begin to trust the knee was fine, than it did to recover from the surgery.

Dr. Phillips did my surgery in 1999 and it is still solid as a rock - if he handles the surgery Will is in great hands.

This puts WE back in the same class with AT (assuming he does get the medical redshirt). I wish WE all the best in his recovery from this injury.

In most ACL tears, there is usually some cartilage damage that goes along with it. In Will's case, there is a small amount of cartilage and bone damage that is not serious. His injury, ACL tear, should heal fine with surgery, and he'll be ready for next year.

DC you are correct on the meniscus thing - I had some severe meniscus damage and Dr. Phillips did some pinning which required me to be off the knee for 6 weeks. I was trying to say if it was just a little damage or minor fraying.
 
Hey Will, you get well real quick. ya hear. I told you at Itoo you would have a breakout game. Glad it happened before this...
