Yeah I saw that but I must not have interpreted it the same way...I just took it as his season just went down the drain....which, in a sense, is true.
This fits in the "nit-pick-n-gotchya" of today. It's the basic old-school move of "sluff-n-duff" and "that's not what I meant". It sticks the fork in - gets an effect - hurts people who hold something emotionally dear to themselves - then the offender backs off and claims that wasn't the intent. It can be read one way or another... so the fork sticks without being "too offensive". Basically out-smarting the "nit-pick" of the "nit-pcik-and-gotchya" police.
But it is "nit-pick-n-GOTCHYA".
