Bradley at Wisconsin-Milwaukee- Saturday, December 20, 2008, 7:05 pm

I wish I could go but have to attend to other business; the ones that are going need to give yourselves a lot of extra driving time as the forecast is not good , drive safe and bring home a win.

Hey

Hey

Hey Braves,

Just want to say how happy we are that a lot of you are deciding to make the trip up. Your fan base is everything I wish my fan base was.

If you all get bored with your function and want to hang out in a more college atmosphere, Major Goolsby's is across the street from the Hyatt, and it's also across the street from the Cell (the arena and Hyatt are kitty-corner). A small contingent of us should be there around 5:30 or so.

If you are looking for something after the game, the entire UWM team and coaches comes to Goolsby's following the game for the official Post-game Party. It's a really fun atmosphere and something you might want to do if you're staying in town overnight.

If you're looking for me at the game, I'll be the biggest guy in the front wearing a white #40 jersey. The core group of students will be staying in Milwaukee through Sunday so we can make the game, but we don't think we'll have more than 200 fans at the game.

Hope to see a lot of you in Milwaukee,
Black Panther UWM
Jimmy Lemke

Hi Jimmy- welcome here, it sounds like UWM needs a few hundred more rabid fans like you!

Weren't you in Peoria last February? I recall someone from UWM with a jersey on sat in section 12 behind the visitor's bench.

If the braves beat the Panthers does that constitute a "quality win?"

Or, is this a road game we are supposed to win, where a win does not help us but a loss would be damaging.

I think winning on the road at a Horizon Team's arena is a good win, albeit, a team with a somewhat lackluster RPI.

Yeah, a large group of us came down, but my friend and I snuck down and sat right behind the team bench. My friend was the one who got escorted out for drinking underage, if you recall. I was the much larger one haha

I remember that well. Didn't you have a black jersey last year?

Looking back at pics, I wore a black t-shirt over a long-sleeve gold t-shirt.

I have several game-worn jerseys, but I didn't wear any of them last year.

Yes, I remember that! Some of us got quite the laugh out of it!

The good news is that today's snow storm has moved out of the Milwaukee area. Left about 12 inches here. Should be clear for everyone coming up later tonight or early tomorrow. More snow on the way later tomorrow and into sat night and sunday....

I think this is a game that Bradley should win, although road games are never easy. Pomeroy's site predicts a 74-70 BU win.

UWM offensively is a perimeter-oriented team - they excel at limiting turnovers (36th nationally) and taking a large amount of threes (while hitting at a solid 36% clip). They're a very short team, so they don't get many buckets inside and are one of the worst offensive rebounding teams in the country - pretty typical of a perimeter-oriented team. Overall, their offense is pretty average (184th nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency).

Individually, nobody really stands out in terms of efficiency - the whole team has fairly mediocre numbers thus far, although nobody has been awful either. Junior SG Tone Boyle leads the team in minutes by a large margin and shoots a decent amount, so he is the leading scorer. The other aggressive shooters are senior guard Avery Smith (almost all from inside the arc), sophomore PF Anthony Hill (their best rebounder), and 6'7'' 340 lbs (!) shooter James Eayrs (42% from downtown). Ricky Franklin is a steady senior PG that can't shoot.

Defensively, UWM has really struggled. They force very few turnovers, so that might be a welcome relief for BU. Teams haven't taken many threes against UWM thus far, probably because the lane has been so hospitable with them rarely blocking shots. Bradley should try to attack the basket and then take the opens threes that result when UWM packs it in.

This is possibly the worst defensive team that Bradley has left on their schedule, so hopefully the Braves can build up some confidence and get their outside shooting back on track.

Haha, that was hilarious, we've all been there (being escourted out of the arena I mean :)). I think we took some pics with you guys last year too. I'm gonna be leaving from Chicago in a few hours. Lets Go Braves!
