I noticed that Chris Lowery gave up on most of his starters early. With nearly 10 minutes left in the game, Boyle, Hare, Clemmons, and Fay were benched and never returned to the game. Bradley stretched the lead out to 27, before taking all their starters out and inserting even some walkons. A few late threes by SIU made the margin 16 at the end.
Mullins was scoreless in the 2nd half. In fact, after he made 3 threes and a couple free throws early in the first half, he never scored again. I thought Sam showed much more energy and outplayed Mullins. Mullins was unable to keep up with Eddren's quickness, and between EM and SM they set up Bradley's offense to perfection. Teron, DC, and Chris Roberts all played extremely well, and dominated the SIU frontcourt. And Bradley's bench clearly utplayed the SIU bench.
The only one of the heralded SIU freshmen that showed anything was Kevin Dillard. He had 21 points, but most came late when the game was over, and he was guarded by deep reserves and walkons.
Between the other 5 heralded freshmen- Nick Evans (0-1), Torres Roundtree (0-0), Ryan Hare (0-2), Justin Bocot (1-2) , and Anthony Booker (1-7)- they were just 2-12, and a total of 15 points.
How about Sam singh's interior defense and 5 steals in just 19 minutes of play!
