5 MVC games Sunday, 12/28

Here are the Las Vegas lines as of Saturday afternoon--

Bradley -2.5 points over SIU
UNI -8 points over Indiana State
Evansville -2.5 points over Drake
Illinois State -3 points over Missour State
Creighton -12.5 points over Wichita State

This site is usually better for next day lines...

BU -2 over SIU
UNI -8 over InSU
Evansville -3 over Drake
ISU -1.5 over MSU
CU -12 over WSU

I guess the only significant difference is the 1.5 difference in the ISU/MSU game...none the less- it seems as though this site is more commonly used for next day lines... not that it makes much difference anyway

4 games are finals--

SIUE is GOOD!

they sure fought harder against us than SIUC did.

Evansville for real??

BU goes for a road win Wednesday

-Shockers of the day so far is Indiana St on the road by a point over UNI :0. How does a team that wins 2 non-conference games, go on the road and pull off a Valley victory? I don't understand it.

-Other one is ISU down by 15 late in the game against MSU. Looks like that 10th easiest or so strength of schedule didn't help ISU all that much. May actually hurt them if their Valley play continues like that. Game nearly went into double OT but MSU missed a last second 3 pointer.

-Also, why doesn't MSU's new arena not have a playback monitor? A last second shot today could of went either way but they couldn't review it because they didn't have a playback monitor. A majority of older stadiums have playback. Thought that was kind of weird.

In regards to ISUb winning at UNI... I think it has a lot to do with Harry Marshall coming back. He was ineligible first semester, and if you look at the box score, it looks like he's gonna give ISU a little bit of a jolt.

That is not really accurate. ISU was not down 15 "late in the game".

They were down 43-28 with 15:10 left in the game. They then went on a 22-2 run to make it 50-45. The game was tied at the 7:45 mark and ISU finished it 22-2 run at the 6:15 mark. It was back and forth from there.

In regards to the end of the game situation- it seemed pretty bad to me..

I have seen discussions/arguments on redbirdfan, valleytalk, and msubearnation about it. Someone with MSU said they were at the scorers table and saw the 4th official check the video and ruled it was good. If that is the case, something is really wrong. Someone else said they were in the production room and saw that it was good as well. However, both ISU and MSU's radio guys said the 3 officials on the court never once looked at a monitor and there was not one to even look at.

I am really glad it didn't matter in the long run, but it appeared from my POV online- that it was NOT good... there were also several posters on MSU's board that didn't think it was going to count either...

If I were ISU and ended up losing, I would be fuming, because the announcers made it sound like it obviously should not have counted. And I give a lot of credit to the run they made in the 2nd half in a tough road game. Also, if the shot really shouldn't have counted, they overcame that and won it twice. They are a good team.
