I think the EU ISU game will tell a little story. I expect ISU to win by 10+ but if EU can hang with them they will be a contender.

There was 1 or 2 games this season that ISU had a 20 pt lead with 5-7 mins to go, only to give it up late and make the game close... Jank also talks alot about having his 5 best players on the court as much as possible, to get, and keep them in condition for the long conference run, and MVC tourney.

ISU had NO legs in the 30 point stomping by Drake in the MVC final last year. That is another reason he wanted to play in 2 "3-day" tourney's early in the year- get the players used to back to back to back games and playing 30+ mins a game.

I agree they were in a little long- but only a couple of minutes.

RF21, ISU is playing great and there's nothing that any BU fan should be trying to do to knock that. For years I've always felt that ISU had an inferiority complex, obsessing more about BU's failures than their own success.

To some on this board, that's how they are getting this season towards ISU. Whipping a team by 30 who has been playing very well is enough to get any team excited.

If BU can beat the Birds, then the smack talk can really begin. Otherwise, BU fans really have nothing to say yet except hiding behind the "ISU's schedule is garbage" argument.

I completely agree. Also, those that are firm believers in the RPI have to be impressed that isu handed the #21 RPI team a 30-point loss!

ISU was up 25 and under 2 minutes to play and yet
Jank still had the starters in trying to run up the score...
even the Redbird fans kinda wondered what the hey...........
http://redbirdfan.com/msgforum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10892&start=65

Three starters played over 30 min, subs Holtz, Robinson, Shipley, Thornton, all played only the final 2 minutes.
THIS GAME WAS A 20 POINT BLOWOUT IN THE 12 minutes of the FIRST HALF,
and a 27 point blowout before the first half was over.
Evansville was dead, they never made the tiniest run, and the margin was never less than 24-30 the entire rest of the way.

hmmmm....does the coach think a bigger BLOWOUT score will get him more votes in the AP Poll??

Why is Shy Ely still on the court when the game ends, despite his team being down 30 points?

Ely played 36 of 40 minutes in a game that was never close.

Remember when people were touting Evansville and their top 20 RPI as world beaters?

What does it say when a team like ISU, with such a poor non-conference schedule can take down the Giant Aces by 30 points? ISU's RPI was what 60 coming into the game, and the Aces was what, 20? Hmmmmm:D

Now the Aces might still have a good year. But they aren't a top 20, or a top 30, or even a top 40 team. No matter what any RPI website says.
