Bradley (8-5, 2-0, RPI 76) and they play next at Missouri State (7-6, 0-2, RPI 132) Saturday night, 7:05 pm.
Bradley is coming off a couple big wins against SIU and Wichita State.
Missouri State lost at home to Illinois State, and on the road at Drake.

MSU Better than RPI indicates

MSU Better than RPI indicates

This will be a key test for Bradley's young guards. Mo. State as I recall has two outstanding defenders in Cooks and Laurie. Cooks may draw Wilson defensively because they're about the same size.

MSU's strength of schedule is about the same as BU's...with some close losses so don't let their RPI fool ya...

It's the Valley games that will "grow up" the youngsters like McCain, Norris and Brown.

p.s. why didn't Darian play against WSU? Did I miss something?

Kinda curious

Kinda curious

I suppose this could be a result of Coach's "practice hard and you'll play" edict...hopefully not something punitive. He's not as effective on the court as Edren, but he's certainly got huge potential.

Tornado, is there something going on with Norris that you care to talk about?
I just thought he did not play because none of our guards were in foul trouble, I think he is going to be a very good player at BU in the near future.

I did not see him on the bench, I know no more than you do.
The likeliest thing would be injury or some personal reason.

I hope it is a one time thing. It is never good to see that one of the players is just MIA with no comment from the coach. I am not going to speculate, but I hope to hear something soon.

I saw Norris on the bench several times last night. He was dressed and looked like he was able to play to me.

Good. I was at a bar and couldn't see well so I was just going by what others were stating.

Some news regarding the BU game at Missouri State. Their starting lineup is uncertain, due injuries and other issues

Their leading scorer is senior junior college transfer from Redlands Community College Chris Cooks at 12.1 ppg. He was their leading returning scorer from last year's team. He missed their last 2 games because of symptoms from a concussion he suffered in a game Dec. 22. The decision whether he will play Saturday night will be made prior to game time.

Their 2nd leading scorer is senior Spencer Laurie at 10.3 ppg. He was a starter from last year's team.

His brother Shane Laurie, also a senior and part-time starter last year, has only played the last 2 games. He also was sidelined with complications from multiple concussions, until he was cleared to play the last 2 games. He had not even begun practicing with the team until Dec. 11.

MSU scoring leaders-
http://www.mvc.org/mbb/stats/msu.htm#team.ind

As can be seen in the above link, they have had 9 different players start at least 1 game, only 1 player (Wade Knapp) has started every game, and they have used many different starting lineups.

Junior Justin Fuehrmeyer, a 6' guard who was their starting point guard last year, has played very little under new coach Cuonzo Martin. However, he did get his first start of the year last Sunday against Illinois State.

And their leading scorer against Illinois State was transfer 6'9" center Will Creekmore. He transferred to MSU from Boston College at midyear last year, and just gained eligibility the last 2 games. He scored 19 points against ISU, but scored just 8 in their loss at Drake. With Creekmore's emergence, it may be liklier that Chris Cooks will come off the bench if he is cleared to play.

Wade Knapp is the only player who has started all 13 games. The former Bradley recruit is playing much better this season. He is averaging 9.8 ppg which is 3rd on the team, and is also 3rd in rebounding with 4.9 rpg.

Freshman 6'2" guard Cardell McFarland, from Evansville, Indiana, has also started 12 of their 13 games. He averages 6.2 ppg, but is hitting just 24% (6-25) on threes.

My guess is that their starting lineup will be Creekmore, Knapp, Spencer Laurie, Cardell McFarland, and Justin Fuehrmeyer. Cooks and Shane Laurie will probably come off the bench.

I also recall seeming him on the bench. I remember seeing him during a timeout in the second half with his warm ups on, but under the warmup you could see his jersey was untucked. Im assuming he wasnt expecting to play

I thought I saw him warming up before the game, there was no report by D.Reynolds about him after the game so I suspect that there is nothing going on.

According to DR's latest article, Norris was indeed on the bench.....

Darian Norris, meanwhile, has seen his playing time steadily reduced to the point Wednesday where he didn??™t get off the bench.

Irregardless of what "others" say, if certain people on this board didn't see Norris on the bench , he wasn't there!
