Congrats

I thought the reffs were so much better then the other games we have played in conference. They were at least consistant in blowing calls for both teams, there was a flow to the game and they really let the game be decided by the players and at the end this is what counts the most. Yes they could have been better but compared to other crews in the MVC I'll take this everytime out.

Agreed, they were consistent, which I guess is something, but consistently bad is not what I want to see. I swear there was one ref who was calling only things for ISU, one who was calling only call for BU, and one ref who was trying to even it out. If I saw the light haired ref (h-something) on the baseline while BU was on offense, I knew there was no way we were getting a foul called.

I appreciate the classy way that ISU fans have come on this board and congratulated BU on the victory last night. It's a spirited rivalry, but one that is handled with dignity and respect for each other's programs.

Well done ISU fans! Look forward to the rematch on Jan 31st...

Come on, all us BU fans know how much, for some reason, they hate everything about Bradley. If they would have won they would have more obnoxious than usual.

Exactly! But for some reason we are out of line when giving our opinion of the outcome of our victory!

isu cannot possibly lose enough games this season, or any other season!

First off thanks to the isu fans who posted here... The rivalry is more fun when both teams are playing for first place in the Valley.8)

SFP, there was a discussion about officiating on another thread and I posted the same thing that you posted here... Good officials let the players decide the games and are in the background to make sure that the game doesn't get carried away...

I liked what the coaches and ISU staff said. No excuses...gave BU credit...complimented me and me 11,400 friends for a decided hame court advantage and just were classy all the way around.

As I said in the postgame thread before I noticed this thread...

Nice win guys. You wanted it more than we did, plain and simple.

I don't know why, but for whatever reason we just came out flat, uninspired and didn't have nearly the effort we should have and you guys took advantage of that. We were launching ridiculous and unneccesary shots all game and you guys hit the big shots you needed to and did what you had to do to win. Looking forward to the rematch in Normal in a few weeks.

Thanks Phantom.

What's the word on Oguchi - I heard he was having back spasms. He ok? I hope so - I don't wish the injury bug on anybody. Good luck to your boys most of the way. ;)

He's definately banged up. Tweaked an ankle vs. CU then messed up his back in practice before last night's game. He was in noticeable pain and did all he could but you could tell he just couldn't go full speed. Hopefully he'll be better for our game Saturday @ Indy St.

Who cracked his head on the floor in the final minute? All i heard was a thump, then saw him walkign off the court with a towel on his head.

edit... Was i the only one who held his breath when i saw a BU player writhing in pain under the basket (can't remember who it was, alcohol induced haze possibly responsible)

Brandon Sampay. Not sure if he needed stitches or not but he was bleeding pretty good it looked like.

Wow, thats bad... But anyway we were ALL worried as that was Edge and he looked like he seriosuly injured his groin. Though obviously he came back and played in the game. We cannot afford an injury to another starter...

EM landed on his tail bone pretty hard. He was under cut by an ISU player as he went for a basket. SM had to shoot his FTs. EM came back in but looked a little tender. He's probably OK but a little banged up this morning I'm sure.

Groin? I thought he was going to need a new hip.

Add: Very classy of the Redbird fans to offer their congratulations. Your actions make you guys stick out like sore thumbs when it comes to representing an otherwise garbage institution and fan base. :P

Pretty sure that was Sampay, who dislocated his shoulder at Carver last year...

It was Sampay... he cut his head open... but it was Slack that got tossed into the basket pad (or w/e you call it) and seperated his shoulder last year.

Ah, I think I got them confused as well, as I thought Sampay was Slack. I was like WTF? He got alot heavier this year...
