isu @ UNI

Future Walk-On

New member
When the final score from Cedar Falls was announced tonight they crowd went nuts...

I was upset...wouldn't you rather have isu beat UNI ending their streak?

I would rather be tied for second and one game back with UNI's streak ended, than alone in 2nd 2 games back.

Anyone else agree?

uneducated fans? come on. just because it is isu doesn't mean we want them to always lose.

this because you value the threat of isu more than UNI who is just hot?

I am saying the same about UNI as I did about Drake last year....oh they need to lose a game and they will fall back into the cluster. too bad that never happened....i dont want UNI to follow Drake

the isu loss was good in my book! There is no-way the Braves would want to go to isu Sat being tied with them...it's better to have a game up because it will be hard to win there...the best they can do Sat is tie the Braves...UNI will lose some game but lets just keep isu under us for it is a long season..trust me the best thing happended tonight!

Mike, I agree, we're playing for 2nd place.

Oh and did I mention that I can't stand isu.

Northern Iowa still has road games at Indiana State, Bradley, Wichita State, and illinois state. They will lose at least 2 of those, maybe three.
I don't think Bradley can go the rest of the way with only 1 loss, so maybe we are playing for 2nd place, but considering where we were to start the league, that could still earn Jim Les Coach of the Year.

Note- if I was voting, I would vote for Ben Jacobson for the job he's done.

isu is going DOWN fast!! WE will bury them Saturday--there is no way they will beat us --they are too soft and can't handle our pressure defense--and we can drop them like a bad habit way down with Evansville in the standings--I hate those stinking Birds. I can't wait till next Monday at work ( the owner of our company is an isu alum)--there will be some loud coversations at the water cooler about BU having a 2 game lead over isu:-D

I agree, BU has perhaps 3 of the 4 toughest road games left to play...ISU, Drake, Creighton.

The good news about that is that we couldn't be prepared for these games any better. I think all three have shown to have some "kinks in their armor" and we are beginning to really gel as a team.

Im not predicting how we'll do, but I feel like circumstances have put us in the best position to possibly win some of these games.

I don't know. I guess I thought that we still are fighting for first place. A UNI loss would have made things interesting. But I do see that I think isu is more beatable now that they lost.

Regardless of how we finish the regular season I believe there will only be one team from the Valley heading to the NCAA, so all I want from our guys right now is marked improvement every week between now and March. I also want to see SS and DC take their energy level on the road with them. They are both Srs. and I expect them to be a bit more consistant then they have been this year. Did you guys see how TW adjusted his game a bit? He's getting the ball closer to the basket, dribbling less and hitting the offensive boards like a beast. The other teams are doubling up in the paint on us and that is why we are shooting the 3 better. We need to continue the trend of scoring in the paint. Does anyone have the stats of our wins and 3 point shooting compared to points scored in the paint?

this weekend we need guys like the ones who held
Oguchi to 1-4 from 3-pt & only 2 rebs,
and Eldridge to 0-3 from 3-pt and only 4 pts total,
and Holloway to 1-4 from 3-pt..

or are they burning out playing way too manmy minutes and shouldering way too many responsibilities with such a short bench.
Or could they have been looking past the team that's in 1st place and worrying about Bradley?

They were playing a road game and have proven over and over again that they are a 100% different team on the road...

Not sure of the exact numbers, but ISU is averaging around 75 pts at home, and only 55 or so on road. It's a mystery
