Post game 86 BU-75 Loyola

The attendance was 3,239- almost half the fans were for Bradley. The Bradley fans at the game were loud and enthusiastic.
It was nice to see former BU players Bayo Akinkunle and Matthew Lee at the game, along with other former BU players Carl Maniscalco, Doug Pomatto, Doug Shank, and Kevin Clancy. There might have been more.

The student turnout was pathetic. Loyola has a student section called the Rambler Rowdies. We counted a maximum of 17 people in the entire section.

I wonder why this photo is with the Loyola postgame article on Bradley's very own athletic website......

We whoop a team that just won AT Butler and then manhandled Detroit. And people are worried?

I'll take it, smile, and move on. Nice W.

I loved the way the team hung on and fought back when the game was on the line. However, I'm dissapointed that BU let Loyola back into the game. I was really hoping for a BIG 20+ point win and the chance to get AT and others more minutes.

The BU Web site almost always uses file photos for game recaps, especially for road games.

I know. Some were questioning why the PJS was using a photo of a different game to go along with one of their articles. Just thought I'd point out that Bradley's very own athletic website does the same thing and I don't think it's only for road games.

Imagine that ... someone on here defending the PJStar. The nerve, shaunguth!

I didn't see the comment about the PJStar pic, but my guess is that it was a road game and they rely on photos from the AP. If there aren't any on the AP wire, they use a file pic from another game.

We won and that was great but a few things of note. First we were passing the ball beautiful the first part of the game and got away from that the rest of the game. Tooooo much dribbling from the team. Second I thought TB played a good game and I thought he should have seen some action in the 2nd 1/2 to give TW a spell. Do you wonder why he missed hid FTs down the stretch? It is called fatigue my friends. JL needs to use TB 3-5 minutes in the 2nd 1/2 to let TW recoup and be ready for the last 8 minutes. DC had a decent game and SS disappeared. I just want to sasy we need to look inside right away instead of waiting. DC or for that fact SS and TW have been open early and the team just seems to want to pass around the perimeter. Loyola started playing the pass and that is when the inside should have opened up. Also we lost our defensive focus andintensity for too long of stretches. A better team would have drilled us. I like what I saw the first 15 minutes of the game and if we can do that for 40 minutes we will be a real tough out.

... along with other former BU players ...Doug Shank...

Did Doug demonstrate his "crossover"?

the band section was way larger than the student section...

also....there is a small report in the DR coverage saying Dodie hurt his hand and is getting xrays...hope he is OK, he definitely helped us more yesterday than those missed FT's seemed to indicate...

Several times when we needed a basket, it was Dodie who either drove or pulled up or dished off..and he did make his first 7 FT's when it really mattered.

and...anyone notice a little error in this report??

The final score was 86-75 not 86-79.

finally--- Loyola's Justin Cerasoli & JR Blount did have a good games, but required 41 (22+19) shot attempts for
their 46 points (26+20)
(1.12 points per shot attempt)
The rest of the starters "dropped" 17 points from 11 shot attempts... 1.55 points per shot attempt
and the rest of the entire team had 29 pts on 24 shots... 1.21 points per shot attempt.
This leads me to believe their "studs" maybe took too many shots, and some ill-advised shots...
Maybe guys like Courtney Stanley (4-6) and Darrin Williams (4-4) should have gotten more shots.

Loyola had 65 shot attempts in the game, Bradley had only 48.
and we had assists on 58.3% of our baskets, compared to their 42.4%...
We shared the ball better, took better shots, turned it over less, and most importantly scored more!

We usually let you do that Scouter. JK
