Chris Roberts had a great game at Loyola, and shared team-high scoring honors with Sam M. with 18 points.

After going scoreless at Drake (2/7), and after 9 straight single-digit games, Chris has really played well the last 4 games.

Here is a log of his games, and note the last 4 games--

Note in the last 4 games he has scored 11, 12, 12, and 18 points, and his shooting percentage has been fantastic (16-22, 73% and 8-11 from three). He is also 13-14 from the free throw line in that time.
And he has been playing very good defense.

I expect Chris to continue his superb play through the MVC tournament, and next year he'll be one of Bradley's top scorers and defenders.
With his God-given natural athletic abilities, I can also see Chris playing pro ball somewhere after his Bradley career.

How many years in a row has BU gone into a season after losing it's best player(s)? Just once I'd like to have our best player come back and play a full season. This year we'll lose Wilson, last year Crouch and Ruff, Sommerville before that, then POB.......

I have a feeling Roberts could be next....

CR has really come along. I wish we had him for a couple more years. His shot looks really nice right now and his all around game has become more consistent. He should be a starter next year and could be among the best players in the league. His upside is huge. I like him in the 3 spot along with AW in the 2 next year. I hope that a couple others step up to play the 4 & 5 spots because I don't want him stuck in the 4 (out of position) like TW has been. CR has good range on his shot and can play the 3 or even the 2 IMO, but he is likely to take TW's 4 spot.

This is quite a macabre post.

I don't think it is any coincidence that Bradley is 8-3 when Chris Roberts scores in double digits. He gives Bradley an extra rebounder when he is out there and is fast on the defensive end.

It'll be interesting to see what he can add to his game in the offseason. It seems like if he can improve some areas of his game, like ball handling, he can become a heckuva player next year.

I don't see Roberts playing the 4 spot too much. He doesn't look too comfortable in the paint on offense.

Haha, I bet back in November you didn't you'd be making this post! I know you weren't too keen on him at the beginning of the year (I wasn't either), but its great how a player can surprise you during the course of the season.

C.Roberts should be getting more shots as he has been shooting the ball better then everyone on the team in the last several games, he is not big enough to play the 4 but should get a lot of minutes the rest of this season and next year. With A.Warren playing next season BU should have the best no. of good guards in the Valley.

I see Taylor Brown taking over Wilson spot next year not Chris.
I can see Taylor playing more 4 then 3 because the way Chris is coming along he's going to get alot of minutes and probably at the 3. I was worried about who was going to pick up Therons production but I think we've found him and his initials are Chris Roberts. Keep up the good work CR its a pleasure to see you getting more comfortable in you new role of more minutes. Well deserved I might add.

You're right. I get nervous when athleticism seems to be the main thing they say about a juco guy. They tend to sit on the bench due to their lack of defense.

Roberts certainly has been streaky this year. Hopefully it will be a good streak in St. Louis.

I hope the assist numbers for him go up next year since he will be more familiar with the offense and his teammates.

CR right now will be the first guy off the bench next year. TB is defintely being groomed for the 4 next year. We are pretty deep at the 2-3 position SM, DN, DD, AW, CR so I would suspect that we will see some more small ball and plenty of minutes for CR at the 3/2 position while AW is at the 2/3. We could see a possible line up with DD, AW, CR, TB, WE! I doubt it but it could happen!

We WILL have our best player back next year ... and the year after that. Remember a guy named Andrew Warren?

And we have good new players coming in too. If for some wild reason (the MVCT) we get into the NCAA this year....it could be really good. Other teams make it year after year after year....no reason why we can't with what we see in the future.

I think Chris' play will be the key to a strong run in St Louis. BU is so much better when he's playing well. He can be a difference maker both offensively and defensively.

What I like about CR's game right now is that he is not rushing his offensive game and he's letting it come to him. On D he has to be the best man on man player we have and he has stopped that total gambling approach in stealing the ball that was resulting in easy back door plays against us.

I expect DD and CR to be able to take it up a notch now since they have had time to play in JL's system and now can play of of instincts and react instead of totally thinking about every play where they should be out there.
