Sam Singh Year 6

you think that is good?

He improved quite a bit this year, and if he works on some things over the summer he can be great next year. He also brings great experience and can help mentor the new players coming in next year. That can only be good for the team.

Sam is not perfect but yes I think it is good that he is returning. He gives some stability to a front line that will be very inexperienced with WE, JP, MK, AT. So, I think his presence helps and I think it helps more than most of the JUCO's we could have gotten. Most of the time a Juco does not contribute much in year 1. So, yeah I do think it is good. In addition he is a good kid who has struggled with a bunch of injuries and he deserves a shot at another year.

And what a great way to go out with a possible Valley championship and/or NCAA Tournament appearance next year.

Heck, they may still have a shot to do that this year if we get lucky and play well in St. Louis!

We still have an available scholy and I expect it will be used for a SG. In any case I don't think we would have used two scholys for SG's if SS had not returned.

It's time to move on. We need shooting guards not another slow center. I think we don't see AT next year.

Like houstonbrave said, we don't need another inexperienced JUCO to take a whole season to learn that game at this level. No offense to the likes of TW, but it usually takes time for JUCO's to adjust to the D1 level. SS brings back a wealth of experience to this team next year, and that can only be good.

Sam Singh isn't going to be a stud ever, but he can give you 15 solid post minutes a game. With our inexperience up front, I think it will definitely help some to have him back. He's a smart player and knows his physical limits, hopefully he can mentor the other young post players we're bringing in. Definitely better that a Juco big man as they usually are not very good their first year.

Here is why this is so good. Before this developement we had 5 bigs on scholarship next year and 6 gaurds. Just looking at that you would say we need a big and a shooting gaurd for next year.
The problem though is if we get another big as a JUCO or freshmen then in 2010 we would have had 8 bigs which leaves room for only 5 gaurds.
With SS coming back for only one year it means we will get our 6th big next year and not have to live with the 8th big the year after.
Plus, like everybody is saying SS can walk in and give us 15 to 20 solid minutes. No learning curve. Just a perfect deal for BU. A very good team got a lot better next year. Now we need a large combo gaurd who is a lights out shooter with our last scholarship. A freshmen would be perfect.

You mean like DSE?

As long as either can guard someone shooting the three as neither McCain or Sam M. can guard a 3 point shooter. That was proven again tonight.

For the first time this year, I'm wondering, too.

In the post game, when talking about SS's 6th year and the big man situation for next year, JL talked about WE, incoming recruit JP, but AT aparantly does not exist (as a 5?) to JL.

May I politely request that this thread be renamed "2009 Bradley Recruit: Sam Singh"

I am thrilled by this news. He is an adequate Valley center who has improved each and ever year. I honestly believe that the ability to put our efforts on a solid recruit in the 2010 class plus having Sam back for one more year will have a greater impact on our team's performance than taking a back of the class 2009 recruit for the final scholly.

You could not of said it better. I agree with all you have said. Also Sam brings leadership and team first. If he does not play a minute next year he just brings so much to a team that will need someone like him to school the guys both on the court and off. My hats off to JL for bring Sam back and for holding this team together with all the obstacles it had to over come. Now lets go make some noise in St. Louis:!:
